it starts out a blank canvas
it starts out as just paint
you have the choice to take the paintbrush
or let Him paint
there can be calm blues
or bright yellows
the point is
that you're allowed to go with the flow
along this flow
there might be bumps
leaving black marks
made of coal lumps
but that's the thing about painting
you can change your mind about it
you can decide
to wear your black marks with pride
or you can decide to
go for the black ride
or you can paint over it
and start again
you can forget your mistakes
and give it to Him
that's the thing about painting
you can change your mind about it.
