It's been noted that Stiles doesn't prefer to use labels. They're his strange human phobia, and therefore he refuses to try and define it in his own terms, or to even acknowledge such ideas. To him, the word "friendship" is a label, meaning he prevents himself from ever actually acknowledging what the word means.

But to others, being Stiles' Stilinski's friend means that the seemingly quiet boy you see in the halls and in class, talks to you for once.

In fact, he talks to you a lot— like, way more than you think a human being could in a day.

Being Stiles Stilinski's friend consists of fifty percent Stiles verbalizing his thoughts, and fifty percent you listening to his thoughts. Then again, this is what was gathered by his one and only friend, Scott.

Nobody else really ever got the chance to see Stiles Stilinski's way of throwing word vomit at you as his way of caring.

That is, until Lydia.

"Did you know that up until the 17th century, carrots were purple? The only reason carrots are orange now is because a group of Dutch people wanted to see what would happen when they mixed a yellow and white carrot

Lydia raises her eyebrows, stopping mid-chew to stare at her own plate of carrots in awe.

"Was your mind just blown?" Stiles peered over at her, his carrot becoming a blurred vision in his peripheral. Lydia slowly looked up, still in shock, nodding.
