Tia was able to find Seth and Roman's room Thursday afternoon. She found the couch and felt very accomplished once she sank down into the cushions. She couldn't help but mentally stick her tongue out at Dean. She could operate without him.
"Hey, Tia," Seth said as Tia felt a dip beside her. "What's going on?"
Tia shrugged. "Nothing," she answered. "I just got tired of my room."
"Oh, okay," Seth muttered with a sigh. It was quiet for a long moment and Tia couldn't help but wonder what was going through Seth's head. Was he thinking about her, trying to figure out what to make of the 16-year-old blind girl sitting next to him?
"I want to apologize again about what I said Monday night," he said out of the blue.
"What exactly did you say?" Tia questioned. "I know I already forgave you, but I don't really know what I forgave you for."
"I just said some really mean things about you to Dean," Seth explained, guilt woven in his tone. "Things I shouldn't have said. I just...to be honest, I don't really know what I was thinking, but I don't think that way anymore. I think you're a really cool girl."
Tia giggled, feeling heat creep into her cheeks. "Thanks."
Tia couldn't even say hi to a guy before this, now she was talking to three of the most famous rookies in the WWE. She found it funny how her life turned around, and how quickly, too. Tia felt a pair of lips brush against her cheek and quickly leaned back, startled.
"What was that for?" Tia asked.
"Don't tell Dean," Seth said, panicking. "I just had to do it. It felt right."
Uh-oh. That's all Tia could think right now. She was hit with a huge case of foreshadowing. Something bad was going to happen. Was probably already happening right now as soon as Seth's lips made a whisper of an imprint in her skin.
"I won't tell Dean," Tia said slowly, her voice low. "Just don't do that again, okay?"
"O-okay," Seth stuttered.
Then he picked up her hand and unnecessarily shakes it, but Tia didn't mind. This gesture was better, friendlier and will definitely send the right message.
Just then, the door opened and Dean walked in. Seth quickly let go of her hand as she heard footsteps approach the back of the couch.
"How did you end up in here?" Dean asked. Tia guessed that he was leaning over towards her because she could feel his breath on the top of her head. She tilted her head in the direction of his breathing and slathered on a grin.
"I walked," she said simply. "Pretty impressive for a blind girl, huh?"
Tia hoped the teasing quality in her voice was enough to keep Dean from thinking back to Monday when he "left" her in the locker room. She certainly wanted to forget that and the painful panic that strangled her when she couldn't find him, couldn't even hear his breathing.
Dean didn't say anything, just kissed her forehead and Tia could hear someone suck in a barely audible breath. Seth?
