Chapter 7: Double Doomsday

    You and Tails were working on a reverse pulverizer while Sonic and Amy went to get lunch at Meh Burger. Although you ship Sonamy, you were pretty sure they didn't consider it a date. (Sorry if you don't ship it).
   Anyway, you and Tails were practically working side by side; making both of you a blushing mess. There was also an awkward silence, which didn't help. After awhile, you two actually finished the pulverizer and you both sat down in some arm chairs.
   "(Y-Y/N), can I ask you something?" Tails questioned.
  "You just did, but fire away." You reply, smiling slightly.
  "Do you like somebody? Also, you do know I'm sorry about the whole U.T thing, right?" Tails asked hopefully.
   "That was 2 questions, but I know you're sorry and I forgive you. I know you didn't mean it, but U.T was more of your idea anyway." You reply, trying to dodge the first question.
   "Sorry for bringing it up again, I just wanted you to know that I'm truly sorry. Also, you didn't answer my first question." Tails says, frowning slightly. You look down, trying to hide the blush that erupted on your muzzle like a volcano.
   "W-well I just... uh..." You trailed off. Tails picked your chin up, looking into your bright (e/c) eyes. (You get to choose your eye color now, but not your fur or species).
  "(Y/N), it's not like I'm asking who you like, just if you like someone or not." Tails says, not breaking eye contact. This didn't help your blush; especially since your faces were only inches apart.
  "Y-yes, I l-like s-someone." You say, breaking eye contact. After you said this, Tails looked kind of, um, hurt and jealous?
  "Ok, just wondering." Tails says, looking down.
  "And he's on the team!" You blurt before slapping your hand over your mouth; your blush becoming darker. Tails looked up at you in surprise.
   "H-he is?" Tails asked, hope filling his eyes. You nodded, looking down. You then look back up; only to see Tails silently cheering and fist bumping the air. This caused you to giggle.
  "You saw that; didn't you?" Tails asks, red spreading across his muzzle. You nodded while giggling some more at his cuteness. Wait what?
  "The whole thing. Also, do you like anybody?" You say, catching Tails off guard. He stared at into your eyes for a bit.
  "Y-yeah, I d-do, and she's on the t-team." Tails answers. You frown slightly. At first you thought he might like Zoe or Percy, but since she has to be on the team; he probably likes Sticks. (I ship Stuckles, not Stails).
  "We should probably test the reverse pulverizer." You say, walking over to it. Tails nodded and followed you. You then both go to grab it at the same time; only for you to accidentally place your hand on top of his.
   You both quickly pull back; blushes dancing across your muzzles. You look at each other and make eye contact; neither of you breaking it. You both just kind of stand there; staring into each other's eyes.
  'His eyes are so...... um......cute, I suppose. Then again, Tails is just completely cute in general. I-I think I love him, but he'll never love me. I'm too shy with to many imperfections.' You think sadly to yourself, not breaking eye contact as you frown a bit.
'She's to cute when she blushes. Wait, now that I think about it, she's almost always blushing. I guess she's cute all the time then. She likes someone on our team, and I'm pretty sure she's too smart for Knuckles, so that leaves me and Sonic. She sometimes also talks about how she ships Knuckles and Sticks as well as Sonic and Amy. Does this mean she likes me? There's a big chance, but in not going to tell her how I feel. Not yet. I will event- wow her eyes are pretty. No wait they're not pretty... they're beautiful. I'm pretty sure I love her and all her perfect imperfections. Although, she really doesn't have any imperfections besides being very shy. Oh, her eyes are sparkling. She became even more beautiful through one simple action and she was already extremely beautiful. She should smile more; I love her smile. Wow I think a lot.' Tails thought to himself, his mind just kept babbling.

      ~Meanwhile at Eggman's lair~

   "Wow, I'm really here! When do I start?" Dave the intern questioned. Dave is a tall, thin, and aqua blue  beaver that works at Meh Burger and has green eyes. He also has two giant teeth like any other beaver, but has braces on them. He also wears a purple shirt with green leaves on it.
   "Even though you're only an intern, there's an important job that I want you to do that I can't trust Orbot and Cubot do. Mop the bathroom." Eggman said, holding out a swiffer.
    "Mop the bathroom? *pauses* Wow! Back at Meh Burger I'd have to be a manager to do that." Dave says, saluting Eggman and then runs to the bathroom.
   "You guys could learn a thing or two from this kid." Eggman says to Orbot and Cubot. They glance at each other with uneasy looks.
   Later, Dave was taking out the trash while Orbot and Cubot were talking behind a wall.
  "This new intern worries my circuits. I fear that his enthusiasm for the most meaningless tasks causes us to be inferior in comparison." Orbot said.
   "Yeah, and he's making us look bad, too. He does more sucking up than my cousin Susan and she's a vacuum." Cubot says, insulting Dave who happened to be eavesdropping.
