My quiet alarm went off, the sound grew louder.
"Damn it fuck up!" I heard August say.
"August it's time to get up!" I said laughing and cutting on the light.
"Damn that's bright, wake me up in a hour." He said.
"Nah ya gone be late August." I said still laughing.
"Yeah that's my specialty." He said putting his head under his pillow.
"Please, I need ya to at least drive me Auggie Pooh!" I said still laughing.
"No, no, chile that ain't gone work." He said seriously shaking his head.
"Well as long as ya call me Smarties, I'm down to call ya Auggie Pooh, now get up." I said shaking him.
At School
"Smarties I don't wanna go to class doe!" He said.
"Yes you do Auggie Pooh, ya know what'll happen if ya don't get a education?" I asked.
"Nah what?" He asked.
"Ya ain't gone have a job or no food, or worse, no house, and ya gone lose yo nice car!" I said taking his books out his locker.
"Damn, I guess." He said sighing and taking his books.
"Ok, let's go!" I said dragging him.
We walked in class and I took my seat next to Sa'vionne.

I grabbed my lunch and walked to Malia's table.
"Hey boo!" She said hugging me.

"It's a habit!" She said laughing.
"But forreal, who is he?!" She said looking around.

"I ain't got or need a boyfriend, we just friends, study buddies." I said not realizing I was blushing and staring at August.
"It's Yungin', you blushing!" She semi yelled.
"Yes- wait nah we friends!" I said covering my face.
"Ok." She said sucking her teeth.
"So, you like someone?" I asked changing the subject.
