Few rituals and you change that way you define yourself...
From being someone's daughter, sister you become someone's wife, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law...
You leave behind your surname, parents, house, carefree life for a new house, new family, new surname responsibility full life...
Still i am sure every girl reading this story much have already thought about type of guy she wants...dreamt of how her marriage would take place...
Atleast i have...because its the most beautiful phase of a girl's life...

Rhea's POV
I walk around in my room mermerised by the aroma of flowers comming from all direction..
our house is decorated with beautiful flowers...i can hear maasi and her daughters giggling, bua teasing my dad about growing old, my younger cousin running around the house, running around everyone...people scattered here and there...
Its sangeet, one of the most important part of a punjabi wedding...
That means tomorrow is my marriage..
I worn a light green and peach colored lengenga and silver jewellary...i let my hair half tied...
As i came out, everyone started looking at me...shyly i look down..
My maasi comes to me and kisses my forehead..
"Meri kudi kinni soni lag rahi hai, kissi ki nazar na lage tujhe (my daughter is looking so pretty, may she does not get anyone's buri nazar)", maasi spoke kissing my forehead..
I touched her feets...aarohi rans towards me and hugged me tightly...
"Didu (didi meaning sister) you are looking sooo pretty!..but sadly jiju won't be able to see you!", she teases me as i blush
Did i say i blushed?..
No i didn't!
My elder sisters hug me and take me to the area where ceremony would take place...they too sit with me..
While the older generation sits on different part of the room with tabla, preparing for sangeet
While mehendi would be applied to me, maasi, bua, mom and other women will sing marriage songs!..
Ahh!...males are not allowed in sangeet!
After 15 minutes vivaan's mother brought mehendi for me....mehendi for bride comes from her in law's house...
"Hayye kinni shoni lag rahi hai (you are looking soo pretty!)!", vivaan's mom speaks
"Mennu toh lagta hai aap jyada soni lag rahi ho ( but i feel you are looking prettier)!", i tease her
She starts laughing and i jpin her
"Kithe hai teri bebe (where is your mother)?", she asks
"Outhe hai, maasi ke paas ( she is there, with maasi)", i answer
Vivaan's mother hugs me and then goes to my mother..
I see vivaan's sister-in-law comming towards me..
"Kiven (how are you)", she speaks
"Theek hyun, aap? (I am fine and you?)?", i ask
Mein toh bikul changi hyun! (I am extremely good)"; she answers
"Vivaan teko dekh behosh ho jata, inni soni lag rahi hai (vivaan would have fainted seeing you!..you are looking soo pretty!)", she speaks
"Lol!", i reply making her laugh
The sangeet finally starts..my mom starts singing...
Banno Re Banno Meri, Chali Susraal Ko
Ankhiyon Mein Paani De Gayi, Duaa Mein
Meethi Gud Dhaani Le Gayi... Haaye...
My darling daughter is leaving for her in-law's home
She gave tears in our eyes, as a blessing (while leaving)
She took away jaggery and covering of raw grains
(A custom in Hindu marriages that is performed by the bride)
Now another folklore is sang

I take this promise from my eyes
"Bebe mere gal sun (mom listen to me)", i call my mother
"Ki hogaya (what happened)", she asks worried
My eyes get filled with tears and i hug my mom, she hugs me tightly and she too starts to cry...she then kisses my cheeks and forehead while i wipe her tears...
She looks at my mehendi ...it was still incomplete
"Arre vivaan ka naam kaha likha? ( where is vivaan's name written)", my mother asks my cousin who was applying mehendi
"Oh!..maasi maaf kar do!..(oh maasi forgive me)", my cousin speaks to my mother and then she writes vivaan 's name inside my mehendi making sure it is not visible easily...
I look at my mehendi, vivaan's name and start to blush..
Suddenly i spot a group of women acting weirdly....
Suddenly i realise, they are a group of guys dressed as women!..ahh!..now this sangeet gonna be fun!
