~Chanelle's P.O.V~
"Mommy why are you crying?" Justice asks hugging my legs. I smile down at her and run my fingers through her curly Afro.
"Baby I'm not crying." I lie as sniff and wipe my eyes again.
"Yes you are." Jaheem says walking over to me.
"No I'm fine." I smile.
"And who is you?" Jaheem asks looking Hakeem up and down with his arms folded.
"I'm uhhh...." He looked at me for an answer.
"Your uhhh, who?" Jaheem asks with an attitude.
"Jaheem!" I call out of shock.
Jaheem do got a little attitude problem. Him and Justice both. But they know better than to disrespect adults.
Jaheem looked at me before turning back to Hakeem and sighing.
"Fine. I'm sorry, uhhh." He apologizes sarcastically.
"See you think I'm playin-." I was cut off by Tamia doing our call signaling she was here.
"Hootie Hoo?!?! Nelly Nelle I'm here! Yo, who car outsi-" Tamia stopped mid-sentence when she saw Hakeem.
"Oh hell!" She said as she glared at him and set her purse down.
"Tamia chill. Hakeem is on his way out." I state looking at him. He just stood his ground. But I began to pull him out the kitchen.
"No wait! Umm Chanelle lemme holla at you for a sec." She pulls me over to the bar.
"I think he should stay." She gets to the point.
"Come again?" I ask looking at her crazy.
"You heard me."
"No I really didn't. I got a little disbelief stuck in my ear. I ain't catch that. Say it again." I say as I use my finger nail to clean my ear out.
"Chanelle you heard me right. Listen if you don't let the twins know who he is sooner or later they gon find out. And it's gon be you and your mom all over again. Except you gon be in yo mamas shoes. And I know you don't want that. And I don't want to see you go through that. I'm not saying you have to tell them right now. But at least let him stick around for awhile. And whether they love him or hate him let them know he's really their father. And you know I hate Hakeem almost as much as you do, but I love the twins more than I hate him. Don't make them pay for his mistakes. They need a father in they're lives and Hakeem is tryna be in their lives now. Now I ain't throwin shade at Deandre cuz God know he's a real man for taking care of the twins even though they not his. But I think they deserve to know who their real father is." Tamia states.
I thought about it for a moment. She's right. Of course. My kids do deserve to know. And just because Hakeem is a dumbass don't mean that they have to pay.
