(Caroline)

I started going out with Maria more often, mostly bars or parties. We moved out within the fifth month of being away from Harry. Trevor found a small country house for cheap rent in between here and Amhurst. It was perfect. We only had one neighbor a few miles down and the rest was woods. On my way to school, a song on the radio came on and I looked down at the radio once I heard the familiar husky voice. I didn't recognize the song.  I might never be your knight in shining armor. I might never be the one you take home to mother. And I might never be the one who brings you flowers, but I can be the one, be the one tonight.

I turned up the volume a little and stared at the video. It was Harry. Of course it was Harry. I don't know why I got a little excited but when the chorus came on, I sunk in my seat and bit my thumb.

But if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms, and if you like having secret little rendezvous, if you like to do the things you know that we shouldn't do, then baby im perfect, i'm perfect for you. And if you like midnight driving with the windows down And if you like going places we can't even pronounce If you like to do whatever you've been dreaming about Then baby, I'm perfect

I knew by the lyrics, Harry had wrote it. I could picture those words coming out of his mouth. Every single one of them. I turned the car off and walked in the building.

"Why do you always wear so many sweatshirts?" Maria asks me and I shrug. "I get cold a lot." I admit and she just shrugs back and continues. "So Harry has another song out." I comment and she looks at me. Normally I'd always snap whenever she mentioned his name. "Perfect?" she asks and I slowly nod. I didn't know the name of it but the song mentions 'perfect' a lot so it must be.

"I know he wrote it because I can picture him saying every word." I say opening one of the dog's cage to get him out. "Is it your turn to walk the dogs this week?" she asks and I nod. "I'll come with you so we can talk." she faintly smiles and I hook the leash on the bulldog's collar.

We walked downtown through the city, she ended up taking 3 of the dogs so the 7 of them wouldn't get tangled. We passed a pet store and I stopped. "Hey, do you know if they're hiring?" I ask and she shrugs. "They're always hiring. They go through grooms like water. Why?" she asks and I hand her the other 4 dogs in my hand. "I'm gonna go fill out an app. Give me a minute." I say and walk in the building. I regretted the choice of coming in here when a cute guy sat at the counter but pushed it away. "Excuse me, can I get an app please?" I ask him and he nods and reaches under the counter. "Sure." he smiles and hands me the piece of paper. I pull the pen out of my pants pocket and sit down at one of the tables. He chuckles, causing me to look up. Maria had came in with all the dogs and looked muddled as she huffed. "How do you get them to behave like you do?" she huffs and I laugh, holding an arm out for me to take some.

I took the four larger ones, I loved the lab the most, and pointed at them. "Sit!" I ordered and they all did so. I continued filling out my app, and I didn't really have anything I could put down except that I go to vet school which would give me something. Working at a recording studio doesn't help me much in the animal business. "I don't have any references." I look up at Maria sitting across from me. She shrugs. "Use Stacy. You seem to be her favorite student." she raises an eyebrow and the guy leaned down on his elbows over the counter. "You can use me, my name is Eric Bradshaw." he says and I fake a polite smile to him. "Thank you." I say back to him and he shrugs and continues texting.

Maria smirks at me and I frown. "No." I whisper to her and she holds her hands up. "So why are you looking for a job and how will you have time?" she asks and I shrug. "Me and that friend I told  you about moved into a house and we agreed that I'll only move in if he lets me pay some of the bills. I've applied all over but haven't heard anything. I mean, I'm just a college graduate with no experience. A recording studio only gets you so far in life." I shrug at the thought of that gorgeous building with a thick atmosphere of greedy money.
