The Roles We Play
I am the fixer in my corner of the world.
I am also the invisible girl.
When they have a problem
they come to me to solve it for them.
Then I am invisible again.
This is how it's always been.
Don't be sad.
It's not bad.
We all have a role to play.
And we do it the same day after day.
I don't remember who gave me my role and why.
I do know I will play it until the day I die.
Sometimes it's nice
to be the one they come to for advice.
But it's lonely when they don't need me.
I dream some day of breaking free.
But how and where would I go.
This is all I know.
So I sit here alone and wait.
Staring at these walls I hate.
Until something needs to be fixed or repaired.
If only they really cared.
Don't pity me my friend.
This is my life from the beginning till it's end.
Life is what it is.
We can't change this.
Authors note: Next time your looking at somebody you care about, look at them. Really see them. Think of all the things you get from that person. Love support advice etc.. Then think about what you give to them. Is it balanced, is it even close. Just a little food for thought.
