A Single Rose
A single rose left to remember.
As she lives thru another December.
And tears fall from her eyes.
She wonders why he had to die.
Why the angels took him from her arms?
When she would have protected him from harm.
As they laid him in the ground.
She could still here his sweet sounds.
She goes thru the motions and she waits.
Until its time for her to meet her fate.
Then the angels will come.
And her life on this earth will be done.
She knows it is not the end.
Death is not her enemy but her friend.
She will leave behind all her sorrows.
And he will again be apart of all of her tomorrows.
They will finish the life they had started.
When they have both departed.
Don't cry for her she got her wish.
And now her too we will miss.
As my heart aches for both of them.
On some level I know this is how it should have been.
