So here we go again.
You want to feel love where it has never been.
You want to drag me to another family thing.
So to me you can cling.
While they all pretend it was different when our parents were still alive.
Like they didn't hit and it wasn't a battle to survive.
I say hell no.
You can't make me go.
So you put your face into that familiar pout.

We lived thru that abuse together.
I made us stronger, It made us better
Of my remaining siblings it is you who I am most fond.
It is with you I have a stronger bond.
So as always I will go with you.
They will upset you and the other siblings too.
You will make me promise not to hit the fan.
So I will put the headphones in and turn up Shut Up by Simple Plan.
You will sit there squeezing my arm while I play my PSP.
Until finally you will be ready to flee.
Why do we always play this game?
The only thing we have in common with them is a name.
We owe them nothing.
Because that's what they did while we were all suffering.
They knew what our parents did, they didn't care.
So any part of our new lives, with them I don't want to share.
But I love you, so I will follow.
Because in that misery, I will not allow you to wallow.
When they are done tearing you apart and making you feel small.
I will build you back up and make you feel strong and tall.
You will promise me we don't have to go back there.
But alas I know it's not true, because for them you still care.
