Dead Blood Episode 5 - No Going Back

Chapter 5 - Welcome

Cam had a walker on top of him attempting to tear his face off, Cam held him back as he reached for the axe Rebekah handed him. He took the axe and then sliced the walkers head off, he then opened up the stomach of the walker and let all the blood and guts fall on top of him. Cam stayed still and after a while none of the walkers went for him, the whole house was infested by walkers.

For a couple of hours Cam didn't move but then he pushed the walker off of him and he stood up off the couch, he had his axe out and he started moving through the walkers, he slowly walked towards the door and the walkers did not attempt to bite him, once he got out he realised that the whole street was full of walkers.
"Help!" a man screamed, Cam ran to the voice and he saw a man trying to hold off the walkers with just a knife he went over to the man and started helping him,
"We're going to have to move from here!" Cam told the man,
"Okay!" the man replied,
"This way" Cam said as he ran through an opening of the walkers. They got down and alleyway and he stopped to catch their breath,
"What's your name?" Cam asked,
"Ryan" he replied, "yours?" Ryan asked,
"Cam" Cam replied,
"You from around here?" Ryan asked,
"No, I lived on the outskirts of Atlanta" Cam told him,
"I'm from Florida" Ryan said,
"Are you on your own?" Cam asked him,
"I've got two daughters, we have a camp near by, I can get you in if you want" Ryan replied,
"I need to look for my group" Cam told him,
"Do you know where they could be?" Ryan asked,
"I have no idea, they probably got away from the street" Cam replied,
"Put your hands up!" Ryan shouted as he got out his gun and pointed behind Cam,
"Cam?" A woman voice said, Cam recognised the voice and he turned around and saw Daisy standing behind him,
"Daisy" Cam said in relief,
"I thought you were dead" Daisy told him,
"Where are the others?" Cam asked,
"I left them, Luke forced them all to go with him while I'll stood up to him and left to find you, where's Lizzie?" Daisy asked,
"I think she's dead, I lost her as I fell down the stairs, walkers were everywhere she wouldn't have made it out" Cam replied,
"I can take you both back to my camp and when you need to leave you can leave and then look for your group" Ryan told them,
"Thank you for the offer" Cam said,
"That's a good idea" Daisy said,

"So how far way is this camp?" Cam asked Ryan as they walked down a road,
"About half an hour away now" Ryan replied,
"You actually let people come and go as they please in your camp?" Daisy asked,
"I don't see the problem" Ryan replied,
"You don't know the people who come and go in your camp" Cam told him,
"We never had any problems before" Ryan said,
"Every time you let someone in you risk your life, sometimes people can be just as dangerous as the dead" Daisy said.

"Here we are" Ryan said showing them a wooden gate, the gates opened and Cam could see what reminded him of the community left as a massacre, Cam face dropped as he saw what's beyond the doors,
"What's wrong?" Daisy asked,
"It reminds me of my community" he told her,
"Are you okay to stay here?" She asked,
"I'll have to be, it's warm and there's food we need this after what we've been through" Cam said,
"Agreed" she said in reply. Two kids came running up to them,
"Dad you're back!" they said in delight,
"These are my kids, Lizzie and Mika, Lizzie's slightly older" Ryan told them,
"Lizzie have you been looking after your sister?" Ryan asked,
"Yes dad" Lizzie said to him,
"I haven't seen kids for a while" Cam told Ryan,
"Really?" Ryan asked Cam
"I had a younger sister and her friend is in our group but she's not really a kid anymore" Cam replied.
"We have community showers in the centre, sadly we can't get all the houses having working showers but it's better than nothing" Ryan told him,
"I haven't had a shower for ages" Daisy said in relief,
"Good to know" Cam said smiling at Daisy,
"I'll let you guys settle in, if you need me just find me or ask Lizzie and Mika" Ryan told them as he walked off,
"You know, if this place is really what it is we might just have to take this place" Cam told Daisy,
"Let's just look around first" Daisy said.
