Chapter 8 - Protection

We sat on the sofa at my old house for a while, until we heard a faint laugher outside.

"What's that?" I asked, looking puzzled.

"It sounds like Ben. He'd better not be out there watching us." Jeff sighed.

"Damn I should have shut the curtains." I sighed. 

We opened the door and walked outside. There were Ben and Sally, sitting out there, laughing.

"Jeffy's got a girlfriend!" Sally chanted. 

Ben laughed.

"Laura and Jeffy sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g" They chanted

Jeff rolled his eyes.

"Just get inside before someone sees you." I said, grabbing them and leading them into my house.

"Great. Now this isn't our place where we can be alone anymore. Not with these two twerps." Jeff whispered.

I sighed. flopping down on the sofa.

"Why did you follow us?" Jeff asked.

"We wanted to see where you were going" Sally said.

"You 2 shouldn't be out alone. You could've been seen!" Jeff scolded.

"We were very careful!" Sally said.

"Just... Don't go out alone again, okay?" I asked.

"Fine." Sally and Ben pouted.

"Let's go home now." I said.

"Okay." They said.

We walked out of my house, and quickly ran through the woods until we reached Slender mansion.

We walked into the mansion, and Ben and Sally immediately ran into the living room.

"Guess what everyone!!" Sally shouted.

"What?" Everyone asked.

"Jeffy has a girlfriend!!" Ben laughed.

Jeff sighed.

"She's not my girlfriend!" Jeff shouted.

"Then why were you cuddling on the couch at her house?" Ben asked.

Jeff just rolled his eyes, and repeated

"She's not my girlfriend." 

Sally and Ben began to chant again

"Ben and Laura sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g!"

Jeff rolled his eyes once again, and took a seat in the living room.

We ignored Sally and Ben's chanting for a while, until Slenderman walked out.

"Ben, Sally, stop it." He said, as he took a seat.

"I have an announcement." Slenderman said.

"What?!" Everyone said.

"Jane is on her way over." He said.

"How do you know?" Jeff asked.

"I can sense it." Slenderman said.

Everyone looked worried.

In a few seconds, there was a knock at  the door. Everyone remained in their seats and waited for Slenderman to answer the door.

Sure enough, it was Jane. 

The others quickly ran upstairs. 

"Greetings Slenderman." Jane smiled.

""Why are you here again?" Jeff shouted.

"I'm just here to visit Laura." She smiled.

"It's surprising that she's still alive in this house." Jane laughed

Jeff rolled his eyes.

"Yep. She's still alive. Now you can leave." Jeff suggested

"I'm not going anywhere" She chuckled.

I tried to walk away, but she pulled out a knife and help it to my throat.

"Neither are you." She laughed. 

Jeff pushed her away from me, knocking the knife out of her hand.

He tackled her, grabbing the knife. He was about to stab her, when she laughed and pushed him off of her.

"You can't kill me, you fool." She laughed

"Get out of here!" He shouted.

She chuckled. 

"Looks like it's time for me to go. Don't worry, I'll see you real soon." She said to me, winking.

I glared at her, watching her leave.

"Are you okay?" Jeff asked. 

"Yup." I said, I was still a bit shaken up after being almost murdered for the second time this week.

"Good" He smiled, pulling me into a short hug.

"Thanks for saving me." I whispered

"I told you that I'd protect you, no matter what. And I meant it." He whispered back

I smiled 

"Thank you." I whispered.

"It's no problem. You mean the world to me, and I can't afford to lose you." He whispered

I blushed, nuzzling my head into his neck.

"I love you." He whispered.

"I love you more" I whispered.

"That's not possible." He whispered, before kissing me again.
