Chapter 9 - Another Trip To The Park

"So... um... Laura...?" Jeff said

"Hmmm?" I asked.

"D-do you wanna go to the park again later?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck

"Of course!" I smiled, wrapping my arm around him.

"Let's bring Smile this time. He's getting lonely." Jeff said, pointing to Smile dog, who was on the ground, sleeping.

"Okay." I smiled.

"So... Um... When are we leaving?" He asked.

"Anytime." I smiled.

"Well, um... Let's go now." He said.

"Stop being so nervous!" I chuckled.

He blushed and looked at the ground.

I wrapped my arms around him, kissing his forehead.

Jeff attached a leash to Smile and we ran downstairs to leave.

"Where are you going?" Slenderman asked.

"We're just taking Smile for a quick walk." Jeff said.

"Okay. Just be careful, and don't let anyone notice you." Slenderman said.

We nodded and headed out the door.

As soon as we got to the park, Smile started barking.

"Shhh. Smile. You'll draw more attention to us!" Jeff said, patting his head, trying to calm him down.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked. 

"He's probably just a little scared being around all these people." Jeff said.

"Or maybe it's too hot out here for him." I suggested

I sat down and started petting Smile, trying to calm him down.

"Maybe we should take him to my house." I suggested

Jeff nodded.

"Okay." He said, as he grabbed Smile's leash, and we headed to my house.

When we got to my house, I put out a bowl of ice cold water for smile to drink, and I pulled out some water bottles for me and Jeff to drink.

I handed him one.

"Want it?" I asked

He nodded, and took a drink.

We sat and talked for a while, until we decided to leave. I grabbed Smile's least and we walked out of my house, and into the woods.

When we got into the woods, Smile started barking again.

Soon, we realized why.

Jane chuckled as she approached us.

"I was just about to come and visit you, but you already came to me!" She laughed

"Go away." Jeff shouted.

Smile barked loudly, and tried to attack Jane

I wrapped Smile's leash around my hand a few more times, gripping it as tight as I could.

 "Keep that mutt under control!" Jane shouted.

I glared at her.

"Look at you two. So cute together. It's such a shame that it won't last." She chuckled

I looked at her, a puzzled expression appearing on my face.

"I see you don't understand. Allow me to explain." Jane said.
