Liam's P.O.V.
As I hold the sobbing girl in my arms, I'm not sure exactly what to do. I've never been in this type of situation before. I'm scared, and I know she is too. I stroke her pale blond hair gently, trying to calm her down. She continues to sniffle in my lap.
At last I try one more thing that may work.
I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth,
But if I do,
I'ts you,
It's you, they add up to,
I'm in love with you,
And all these little things.
I sing the familiar song quietly, but with all of the raw emotion I'm feeling right now. Within minutes the tears cease. I glance at her face, only to realize she is asleep. For the first time I notice her strikingly beautiful features. High cheekbones, sandy- blond wavy hair, full pink lips.....
I sigh, scooping her up into my arms as I stand. I walk slowly and carefully down the stairs, making sure not to wake her frail sleeping body. When I finally make it to the bottom of the seemingly never-ending stairs, I slip my phone from my back pocket, sending a quick text to Paul.
Liam: Don't think I'll be able to make it at all today. Sorry.
I then turn my phone off, not wanting the constant buzzing of irritated texts coming through. I continue my walk through the rusty doors I pushed open earlier. I scan the now empty street, for my car. In the heat of the moment, I just ran. Now I realize I'm not sure how far I actually went. I continue walking for a few blocks, taking every chance I get to look down at the beautiful sleeping girl in my arms. She's so light, at times I forget I'm even holding anyone.
I finally spot my car, sitting alone in the street, just as I left it. How odd this must look to others. I unlock the passenger door, gently setting the nameless girl in. As I make my way to the driver's side, I pluck the parking violation ticket from under the windshield wipers.
'Since when is it illegal to park in the middle of the street?' I almost laugh at my lame attempt at a joke.
I start the car and make the short and uneventful drive back to my flat. When we arrive, I once again lift her from the seat, surprised to find she is still sound asleep. I love this feeling. The way her body fits perfectly in my arms, the way our limbs mold together. I smile down at her, as I unlock the door. I finally lay her down in my bed, pulling the soft white sheets around her shoulders. I draw the curtains, and turn the lamp off. I close the door gently behind me as I exit. I sigh, settling onto the couch, finding myself only thinking about the nameless girl. How, I would give anything in the world at this moment to know her name.To know her. To know why. I have so much to learn about this strikingly beautiful, hopefully not much longer, nameless girl.
