We were flying home in the ship that had taken us to the colesium. My parents had spent most of the ride explaining their past. I had listened intently while Luescris and Sapphire tended to my sisters' wound and Lapuz slept on one of the beds. Tails had been driving the ship, not saying a word.

After a few more words, they were finished. They stared at me with looks of concern and guilt.

I rubbed my face and sighed greatly. "So, Mom was an assassin--"

"By force." Mom said, nodding slowly. "Yes."

"And Dad was a speedster, who was desperate to find the one girl he insulted." I finished, looking up.

Dad looked down ashamedly. "Well, if you put it that way..."

"And you decided to keep all of this a secret." I said, looking from Mom to Dad, and back again.

Neither of them looked up at me, or responded.

Luescris sat next to me. "They were only trying to protect you. We all were."

"You were in this, too!" I snapped. "You don't really have a say in this." I paused, and stood. "And if you guys were trying to protect us, why did this happen all over again?! There really was no point in keeping secrets!"

I get that I'm being a bit to harsh on them. But how would you like it if your parents kept secrets from you for fourteen years. You'd feel pretty sour, too.

"You kept secrets from us, too, y'know." Sapphire said from the other room. "Like your speed."

"That doesn't even compare to what my parents kept from us!" I shouted back. "And Alice didn't keep anything from you guys. She had nothing to keep! I'm speaking for the both of us!"

The ship grew quiet. The only sound that was heard was the humming of the engine. Mom reached out for me slowly. I didn't push her away. I melted into her embrace, anger making way for sadness.

"Bolt," She whispered. "What is really on your mind? What is really bothering you?"

I hesitated. A lump had formed in my throat, and I was afraid to speak. I buried my face in her shoulder, and cried. She wrapped her arms around me, and rocked. Dad joined in, hugging us both.

"I... I was scared." I whispered. "I still am. Alice is hurt. I thought... I thought I'd lost you for good... When Scourge... When he shocked me, it hurt.... And then.. And then Dad..." I shivered. "I want to go home. I want this to be over already."

Mom let me cry for a few more minutes, then pulled away. She lifted my face. "Bolt, you should know one thing about Eggman. Once he's involved in your life, he'll never come out of it. Not until he dies. And that day will be the one day we all look forward too."

I looked down.

"But," She continued. "We will always beat him. We will always win, no matter what he throws at us. Especially since we've got two speedsters on our side. In our family."

I looked up at her, and found her smiling. Those weren't some feel good words. I could tell. They were true and real. So, I smiled back. But it faded the next moment, and looked over at Dad. He was staring at the floor. I walked over to him.

"Dad?" I asked quietly.

"... Bolt," He said in a slight whisper, looking up at me. He reached out and took my hand, and pulled me into another hug. "I promise I will never do that again."

I blinked and couldn't understand what he meant for a moment. Then, it came back in a flash. The way he destroyed those robots and turned... Dark. I instantly felt guilty.
