calum hated being so much smaller than luke just for this reason, as he was squealing and trying to pry himself out of luke's grip
'no!!'
'baby please, i've gotten better..' luke mumbled and calum stopped struggling, looking up at the ceiling and shaking his head
'this is how you punish me for my sins?!'
luke snorted and dragged him back to the table
'please?' he whispered, pressing a kiss behind his ear
'luke listen, i love you, more than anything, but you can't cook.'
'i said i got better, i've been practicing,' he mumbled shyly and calum sighed, giving in because of course he was that much of a sweetheart, to the point that he took time to try and be 'good enough for you,' as he always said,
even though he wasn't far from perfect
so calum plopped down in the seat and sighed, looking at the stuffed shells and spinach casserole,
and it looked delicious — but calum learned the hard way of never judging it by look, it raised the expectations, and calum looked back up to plead but he saw luke's bitten lip and blushing cheeks and blue innocent eyes and a little sauce across his cheek and forehead and he sighed — he was just so sweet — so he picked up his fork and luke watched him carefullyholy shit.
this thing was good,
and luke's eyes widened as his did
'is it okay?' he asked and calum looked up at him with wide eyes
'holy shit.' he mumbled, taking another bite and luke bit his lip again
'it's okay?' he repeated and calum nodded with wide eyes 'better than okay, shit.'
a smile lit on luke's face and his cheeks flamed because he actually made something good — something not to dry or wet or undercooked or burnt or flavorless — and he sat down with a fork to try calum's when the plate was held away from him
'get your own.'
luke giggled and nodded, standing as calum put the plate down and chowed, shoveling, mumbling to himself about holy sweet jesus and i think i've met heaven and luke was getting a plate when he was tackled to the ground and he giggled when calum pinned him down and kissed him
'you now have the biggest piece of my heart.'
luke laughed and calum kissed him again, and luke had to say, the flavor of calum's lips mixed wonderfully with the taste of the dish that took him 5 tries to make.
