luke thought that the last time he'd have to wrap ashton's forearms was when his fringe was covering his eyes
not now — not again.
not this bad either.
'ash.' he looked at his face — watching as his eyes squeezed closed and the tears streamed down his cheeks 'sweet.' he whispered, brushing a hair away from ashton's cheek 'talk to me.'
'i'm sad.' he sobbed, his shoulders trembling as he looked at his bandages 'i'm sad — i-i don't feel good.'
luke's heart broke as he nodded
'that's okay, baby.' he whispered and fit himself between his legs as he sat on the counter 'it's okay.'
luke grabbed his thighs and picked him up, ashton's arms wrapping around his neck as he rested his cheek on his shoulder
how did i not notice — he's so light
'shh..shh shh..' he cooed into his ear and ashton nodded, trying to relax his sobs 'i love you.'
ashton whimpered because he so didn't give luke enough — yeah he loved him but he never gave him anything but hurt or worry
'i'm sorry.'
luke sat on their bed, keeping ashton wrapped around him 'why're you sorry?' he whispered, kissing his eyelids and cheeks
'i'm sorry i'm a burden.'
luke's heart broke
'you are no burden.'
'you're gonna have to deal with me like when we were 16 and — r-remember how stressed you got?'
luke frowned and sighed
'that was when the band was starting.' he whispered, kissing his temple 'and we're taking some time off, we've been going since we were 16.'
it's been what, 6 years since there wasn't a day where they were stressing about the band
but their tour was over and it was decided a few days ago that they'd get a year long break — and obviously some needed to heal more than others.
'we have a year, baby, just me you and the boys.'
'yeah, but..' he trailed off
'what?'
he asked him softly and cupped one of his cheeks
'y-you're not gonna get fed up?'
'baby.'
ashton blinked up at him
'i love you okay? i know you love me too, yeah?'
ashton nodded vigorously 'you're mine, have been for a long time — we've been through a lot, you've been through a lot, and i'm not leaving any time soon.'
ashton nodded and kissed his cheek
'thanks lukey.' he mumbled
'i'll help you.'
'are you sure?'
luke smiled softly and took his hand off his neck, holding it carefully before he kissed his bare ring finger
'this sure.'
he dug in his pocket and ashton's eyes widened.
