CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

"I'm going to shut down everything but the emergency power systems," Han announced.

"Sir, I'm almost afraid to ask, but...does that include shutting me down too?" 3PO asked.

Chewbacca barked a yes but was shot down by Ellia. "No 3PO, Captain Solo needs you. Right, Han?"

"Right," Han sending a small frown to Chewbacca, "I need you to talk to the Falcon, find out what's wrong with the hyperdrive."

Suddenly the ship launched forward causing Leia to fall into Chewbacca's arm and making the Wookie howl in laughter.

"I think Chewie's got a crush on the Princess," Han whispered to Ellia causing her to grin.

"Sir, it's quite possible this asteroid is not entirely stable," 3PO said.

"Not entirely stable?" Han asked with sarcasm evident, "I'm glad you're here to tell us these things. Chewie, take the professor to the back and plug him into the hyperdrive."

Chewbacca motioned 3PO out of the cockpit. "Oh! Sometimes I just don't understand human behavior. After all, I'm only trying to do my job in the most..." The sliding door closed behind the indignant C-3PO. Suddenly the ship lurched forward again, throwing Ellia into Han's arms.

Han wrapped tightly around her waist with a goofy grin spread across his face. "Let go," Ellia asked him.

Han shushed her quiet, her patience growing thin. She made eye contact with Leia who trying her hardest to hold back her laughter. "Let go, please."

"Don't get excited sunshine," Han grinned.

"Captain, being held by you isn't quite enough to get me excited," Ellia told him, struggling from his grip.

"Sorry sweetheart. We haven't got the time for anything else," Han told her before letting her go. Han didn't say another word before exiting through the doors.

Ellia pursed her lips, "Leia stay here."

"I'm done!" Ellia called to Han. He had her welding the valves, in an attempt to re-engage the system by pulling the lever attached to the valves.

"Now pull the lever," Han instructed.

Ellia did so, but it wouldn't budge. He moved to help her, but she simply slapped his hand away.

"Hey, Jedi Master, I'm only trying to help," Han said.

Ellia turned her body to face him and with a flick of her wrist and the Force, she pulled the lever done, amusing Han. "Don't call me that."

Han grinned, "Sure Ellia."

Ellia sighed and took off the protective gloves, "You make it so difficult sometimes." She wanted to bury her feeling for Han deep down, knowing it went against everything she was told. Jedis can't fall in love. But he made her feel special. He made her laugh, made her cry, made her completely and utterly happy, even when they weren't together, he was consistently on her mind. When she would see him, her day instantly got better, she didn't want to leave his side. But she questioned if she would be putting him in danger-loving him, for a Jedi to love a smuggler.
