CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

"Victims of the almighty Sarlacc," 3PO, announced to the hovering sand barge and the small ship holding a few guards, Han, Luke, and Chewie, "His Excellency hopes that you will die honorably. But should any of you wish to beg for mercy, the great Jabba the Hutt will now listen to your pleas."

Ellia watched as Han stepped forward arrogantly, looking blankly at the railing where Jabba, herself, and Leia stood. "Threepio, you tell that slimy piece of... worm-ridden filth he'll get no such pleasure from us. Right?"

Chewie growls his agreement. Chewie growled in agreement, but Ellia looked at them with worry in her eye.

"Jabba! This is your last chance. Free us or die," Luke threatened.

Jabba laughed his disgusting hearty laugh then spoke in Huttese, "Move him into position."

Leia looked at Ellia with wide worried brown eyes, but she didn't speak afraid of what might just happen to them.

Luke moved to the edge of the plank, over the gaping Sarlacc. Luke looked up to the top level of the ship, giving a jaunty salute.

"He's doing something," Ellia muttered loud enough for Leia to hear her.

"What?" she asked confused.

Ellia moved quickly to the ground to try to break the chain as Leia covered for her from Jabba.

"Put him in," Jabba exclaimed. Luke came face to face with death driven spectators as he jumped, causing both Ellia and Leia to gasp aloud. But before anyone but Ellia can see what has happened, Luke spun around and grabbed the end of the plank. The board bent inwardly under his weight and he catapulted him into the sky. He landed back into the empty spot where he once stood with a casual open palm where his lightsaber was arching through the sky into his hand.

Ellia bent down in shock. She couldn't believe what she just witnessed Luke do, the boy who could barely hold a lightsaber a few months ago, a boy who had no knowledge of the force.

But before, Ellia could move her very own lightsaber fell with shatter in front of her. Leia looked down at in amazement, but Ellia moved on impulse and pretended that it didn't even happen.

Jabba exploded in anger and began to bark commands at the guards around him. They all soon rushed off to do his bidding. The scuzzy creatures, including Jabba all, watched the fight happening on the small ship a few yards away.

Ellia then got her lightsaber out and ignited it. She knew it would be wasting her opportunity, no one would be paying attention to Jabba's skimpy dressed servants.

She cut through the chain keeping her there and tucked the saber into the small waist line she was wearing, but it stuck out like a sore thumb.

"What are you doing?" Leia shushed at the older girl, pulling her own chain connected to her neck.

"Stay here," Ellia ordered, "It'll be safer and if I do get caught I'll only get punished."

"But what if you escape?" Leia questioned.

"We're not going to leave without you," Ellia smiled at her, "Trust me."

Leia nodded slightly as she scurried off around the crowd, not a single creature but Leia missing her.

••••

Ellia slunk through the sea of people watching the fight, the guards all stood on the outer decks, shooting at her friends on the other side. She ran behind the crates, and the roar of applauses coming from the crowd. When she heard Chewie's loud howl of pain, she quickly stopped looking forward but between the boxes, never stopping her feet.
