I stood outside a door holding Jane in my arms waiting for someone to answer it. The sun was beginning to shine upon the street but it seemed to be struggling which brought a chill to the air so I put my arms around Jane more to keep her warm.

The door finally opened to reveal a woman in her night dress and she smiled when she saw me. “You're earlier today,” she smiled as I handed her Jane.

“I needed to get out the house.”

“I understand James. Would you like to come in for a little bit? I rather you be in the warm then wondering the streets at this time in the morning,” she said.

“I would love to, thanks Kelly,” I said to her as she stood back to let me in before she closed the front door as I walked straight into her living room.

“I don’t like asking but is there something wrong which I could help with?” she asked as we both sat down on the sofa and she put Jane in between us.

“I flipped out yesterday on the phone with my mum. I love her and always will but  after yesterday I can’t help but get angry when I see her. I just had to get out the house as she was up this morning making breakfast. I avoided her and left without saying goodbye but I knew I had to or I would have flipped out again at her,” I said to Kelly like she was one of my closest friends but in a way she is.

“What makes you feel like that?” she asked.

“I think its jealousy or I know it.”

“You don't have to tell me what happened but I know you will forgive her or she will forgive you. I know this won't last long, so be brave James because I know you can get through this,” said Kelly.

That thought stayed throughout my brain as I took a slow walk back to my house. Being brave had always been a part of who I am. I always seemed to be the brave one of our family and it had even been like that when my father left.

“Why are we getting the bus from here?” I heard a familiar voice. I had been walking but looking down at my feet so I looked up to find a teenage boy and the girl I had met at the hospital, Crystal standing outside my house waiting for the school bus I presumed.

“Hey Crystal,” I called to her as I walked faster  to reach them both. I crossed the road quickly and I found myself next to them.

“James I didn’t expect to see you here,” she smiled at me.

“I live just behind us,” I laughed.

“Oh right I didn’t know that,” she laughed and then so did the boy with her.

“Who is this?” I asked her.

“Oh James this is Paul my twin brother I told you about.”

“Nice to meet you Paul,” I smiled at him.

Paul glared at me weirdly for a few seconds before he put his hand out and we shook hands, “Nice to meet you too.”

“Are you getting the school bus from here?” asked Crystal.

“Oh yeah I am. I take you are going to the same school as me then. What is wrong with you?” I asked blankly.

Crystal and Paul looked at me weirdly and it made me feel a little uneasy but I had no idea why. “We are behind on learning,” Paul said.

“Ah I see.”

“Do you really?” Paul said harshly.

Crystal hit her brother on the arm before she turned to me, “Ignore him he can be a little bit of a peanut head. Why do you go to this school?” she asked me.
