kids in the closet

no matter what we try to do to stop it,
kids will stay in the closet.
instead of everyone accepting a basic human right,
the kids will be keeping themselves up at night.
because that's what we've come to,
a world where it's illegal to be you.
where it's not illegal, it's frowned upon,
so i guess these kids will be up till dawn.
wondering why these labels they're stamped with,
change them as a person altogether.
