*Frank's P.O.V*

I shift in my seat, the rough leather pulling down my jeans. I shut one eye as I reposition myself. How did we even end up here? It was a small dessert shop close to Gerard and I's school. The place seemed pretty run down, but Gerard was pretty sure of it. Saying how it was, in fact, probably the best dessert place in Jersey, reassuring me as he pushed me through the door.

Now I am stuck here as Gerard orders us desserts at 5:00p.m. The sky was already dark from the winter season and all that you could see was white fly through the air. Christmas break was next week and it was currently Wednesday. The week seemed to drag on way slower than normal and its was really bugging me. All I wanted to do was stay in bed all day (with Gerard, that wouldn't bother me at all) and sleep.

Deep in thought, I jump when Gerard sets down 2 large, strawberry milkshakes. He smiles cheekily when he sticks a straw in each drink, bending the tip and sitting down. I look at him confused.

"There's snow on the ground," I say skeptically. "And where drinking milkshakes?"

"Well, sor

ry. I'll drink it then." He sighs over dramatically and pulls my milkshake away. I flail and grab the icy cup.

"No, no, it's fine." I smile nervously, holding the cup close to my chest. Gerard rolls his eyes and slurps his milkshake. He pulls off after a few gulps with a face of realization.

"I just remembered!" He exclaims, pushing his milkshake away. "The guys asked me to go with them to the after party on Friday."

I cock an eyebrow with a goofy smile. "The guys?"

Gerard turns a bit pink as he scratches the back of his head. "Yeah, Brendon Urie, Gabe Saporta, those guys."

"You had 2 football practices," I point out. "And you are already invited to parties? Who's dick did you need to suck to get that proposal?"

Gerard throws his head back and laughs loudly. He calms down and ruffles my hair. "Nice one, but they think I'm pretty cool. That's why I was invited to an

exculsive party after the thing on Friday, which I am bringing my lovely guest to." He winks.

I furrow my eyebrows. "What's Friday?"

"Homecoming," and I had completely forgot about that. I let my eyes go wide as Gerard snickers. "You forgot?"

"Yes, I never usually go." I explain. "But this is awesome, it's your first game." Gerard nods, sipping his drink once again. He pulls off of the straw.

"So, yeah, I'll pick you up at 7, give you time after the game." He said with a smirk. I feel a bit surprised.

"Oh," I say, looking down at my drink. Gerard frowns.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's stupid." I blush and the 17 year old grabs my hands.

"Frankie, what is it?" I flush and smile stupidly.

"I've never really had a date for the dance. I would always stay home because I never really had friends either." I crack. "But now I got you."

Gerard smiles at this, rubbing his thumb over my knuckles. "So it's a date?" I blush, looking down. Gerard frowns again, deeper than before. "What is it now?"

"Well, you gotta ask the question..." I drag on, hinting at what I wanted. Gerard gulp his cold drink.

"What question?" I try not to face palm.

"About Friday..." I whisper real slow, so he could catch on. I know he does when he opens his mouth wide and does a silent

ohhhhh.

He sighs. "Do I have to?"

"Yes!" I exclaim. I sit on the edge of my seat, waiting for the question. Anticipation is eating me alive. As sad as it sounds, I was so fucking excited to be asked to a dance by someone, especially someone like Gerard.

Gerard licks his lips of milkshake, calm and collected. He looks me dead in the eyes, saying in the most mundane voice I have ever heard:

"Will you go to the dance with me?"

I deflate, knowing that this was stupid. "Boring," I mumble, sipping my drink shyly with a wrinkled nose.

"Frank, don't wrinkle your nose. That's not cute." Gerard comments with a small smile. I wrinkle my nose even more, causing myself to look like a bunny. Gerard nearly spits out his drink, swallowing and chuckling. I giggle.

"You think I'm adorable!" I exclaim, scrunching up my cheeks against my eyes and smiling widely. Gerard bops my nose.

"More like adorkable, Mr. Bunny rabbit." Gerard laughs, ruffling my hair. I look around at the strange stares we get. Most were just the obvious reason, trying to find the reason why we were acting like animals. But others were in disgust because we were 2 guys who clearly liked each more than we should. I frown and Gerard notices.

I mean, of course it bothered me that people could be such big homophobes. I could love anyone I wanted to! I could hug, kiss or fuck anyone I pleased. My business was nobody else's. It made me disappointed with out society that I couldn't go out in public with my boyfriend. That I couldn't hold hands with my boyfriend without being ridiculed. That I couldn't kiss him in the lights of others with out people making disgusted faces.

"Hey," Gerard calls softly and I turn to look at him. He has soft, knowing smile on his face. "Don't let assholes get to you, okay?"

I nod my head, frowning down at my drink. He sighs and grips my hand. His thumb feels the surface of my small hand, lovingly touching the knuckles. A reassuring squeeze is added.

My facial expression doesn't change but it softens. On the inside, just maybe I was smiling back. Or maybe I was crying out in rejoice, beaming. Letting the world know I was okay. But the world outside me doesn't change when I squeezed back.

Noticing the way Gerard's face glowed, maybe it changed his.
