Chapter 21

Andy's POV:

"How is she?!" I jumped up from the uncomfortable hospital chair and headed towards the doctor that was coming out of Xandra's room

"Well sir it seems as though she has a bit of blood loss, not too much because the cold made her blood flow slower but she got very very cold so we put her in a medically induced coma so that she can heal herself. We are not sure if she has hypothermia or not but we know she is getting better very slowly, we are not sure how long it will take" the doctor said grimly

I stood there staring at the doctor in shock, I looked at the floor my hair falling in front of my face. "Was I too late" I said slowly, my voice cracking

"We don't know, but we are glad you got to her when you did. She is getting better very slowly sir so you don't have to stress to much..." the doctor then walked away, leaving me to my thoughts

I should have got to her sooner.

"Wait!" I called after the doctor, he turned around "may I see her?"

"Yes just go in, quietly please" he turned back and went around the corner

"Thank you..." I muttered softly as I walked towards Xandra's room. I got to the door and pushed it open slowly, walking in the small room. It was lit with hospital lights, giving Xandra a dead complexion.

She was laying on the bed unmoving, tubes and needles sticking in and around her as she struggled to heal and live.

I walked to the side of her small bed, pulling up a chair. I sat down and took her hand in mine, looking at our intertwined hands. I bowed my head

What have I done to you Xandra...this is all my fault I should have explained myself...Xandra please wake up.

"Xandra...Zan please wake up lovely, please I need you" I said softly, looking up at her face looking fruitlessly for any reaction at all.

A speed in the heart monitor

A twitch of the eye

Anything

Anything....

"I ruled the world

With these hands I shook the heavens to the ground.

I laid the gods to rest.

I held the key to the kingdom.

Lions guarding castle walls.

Hail the king of death.

Then I lost it all

Dead and broken.

My back's against the wall.

Cut me open.

I'm just trying to breathe,

Just trying to figure it out

Because I built these walls to watch them crumbling down.

I said, "Then I lost it all."

And who can save me now?"

My voice failed me at that moment...I could barely sing anymore.

"Xandra...I believe we all fall down sometimes...and I need you to get back up again. For me...if not for me then for your aunt...for your parents...you mean so much to me. I cant loose you even if that's selfish of me to ask of you..." I held onto Xandra's hand tighter as I got up from my chair.

"I love you" I said, leaning down and kissing her forehead softly resting my lips there for a few seconds then pulling away, letting go of her hand at the same time.

I walked towards the door, and turned around when I made it to the handle.

"Wake up for me, you will never be invisible to me"
