Chapter 21

We walk back in guilty as ever.

I couldn't help but feel happy even though this meeting could be very bad for Cameron.

"okay, as I was saying" the man resumes. "Care to explain the action you made?"

"Listen I don't think he should've been fired, it was just a stupid move I made." I lied.

"So you're saying that there is no feelings between the two of you? This doesn't add up." He replies.

"Okay I'll tell you the truth, it's just, kind of weird and stupid." I reply, acting embarrassed.

I look over to Cam and he thinks I'm actually going to reveal the truth, I try not to laugh.

"Okay yes?" The man answers.

"It was a dare okay? Ugh." I still try not to laugh. "You know how high schoolers are. We do stupid stuff that turn into mistakes. I'm sorry."

I wasn't even nervous anymore, knowing that Cameron and I will be together again.

"A- a dare? Is this true Mr. Dallas?"

"I mean, I wasn't aware why she kissed me, but yeah that makes sense, really. There is nothing going on between us." Cameron says.

"Okay. I really hope this is the truth, because this is a serious deal, Mr. Dallas. You could get into big trouble."

"I'm aware." Cameron replies. He starts getting up, and says "Well looks like this is about over, thank you for clearing it up."

Cam holds out his hand to shake the other mans.

I don't know why he's acting so confident, but it's funny.

"Um okay." He shakes Cameron's hand and gets up. "We will see if you can get your job back, Mr. Dallas.

And with that, we walk out.

I get into my car as Cameron texts me.

"Hey, meet me at our favorite restaurant, I think it's a good time to talk haha."

"On my way(:"

We get there around the same time, obviously.

He looks at me, hugs me, then starts laughing.

I start laughing just looking at him. "What's so funny?"

"They were so stupid." Cam says, as we both laugh even harder.

When we finally sit down, we actually talk.

I wasn't going to loose him, so I took it pretty seriously.

"I do want to be with you still babe, but what am I going to do if I get the job back?"

I smile just hearing him call me babe, it's been a while.

"Yeah I know. The whole thing is seriously up to you because , well, you'd be paying the consequences." I say, I still feel bad.

"But you're in this relationship too, I shouldn't have all the say."

We both just sit in silence until he starts up again.

"Honestly I don't even want the job right now, I seriously only want you. But there would be so many obstacles like your parents, my parents like, how would I explain this, and just." He sighs. "Just so many other obvious things."

"But Cameron." I get worried that he's going to just give up on everything. "We've gotten past everything so far, I just feel like we've put to much into this to just let go."

"You're right, I won't let go. I don't want the job, I need a better one anyway. You finish out school soon, and then no one will be in the way." He smiles.

I feel so happy just seeing him so inspired by the truth of the future. We can do it.

"Cameron." i pause again, "I want to bring you home today."

"What? Are you ser- what?."

I think he's going to say no, I mean this is a huge step. We've been a secret forever.

But he cuts off my thoughts. "Yes! I can't believe it, I'm so excited like this is huge."

I smile and kiss him. "Yes it is.

"So does that mean you're ready to put in work for this relationship?" Cam smiles.

"Yes of course."

We order our food and have a nice meal, as a public couple for the first time.

"Hey mom? I want you to meet someone." I yell as soon as I open the front door.

"Hey, you're home?" She yells back. "Yeah I have to talk about something too, your school called." My mom says as she is still upstairs.

"Okay but first come down here." I grab Cameron's hand and lead him inside.

She looks down and sees a boy, so she comes down quickly.

"Oh, um hello." She says towards him, "Who is this?"

"Mom this is, Cameron, my boyfriend." I say confidently.

"Cameron, as in, Cameron Dallas?" She asks, recognizing my teachers name.

"Okay, mom. Sit down its a long story."

The three of us sit down, as I tell the story. I tell it as after the "dare". We kissed and felt feelings, so we went out. He wasn't a teacher anymore already, so we just went with it.

Although that wasn't the true story, it didn't matter.

My mom was very skeptical, because it is weird. But that's okay. She ended up being okay with us being a thing after finding out that Cam is actually a good person.

I sit down on Cameron's lap in my room as he uses my laptop to look for a new job.

"Coffee? This might take a while." I giggle because it would seriously take all night. I hand him the cup of coffee I made for him.

"Thanks." He kisses me. I rest my head on his naked chest and smile falling asleep.
