Chapter 15

It's now Friday. The weekend. I couldn't be more relieved.

Jace and I have been pretty much on good terms all week. He has to work today after school, so I pick up Emma from daycare.

After getting Emma, I head to the grocery store since we have absolutely nothing to eat in the house right now.

I put Emma in the holder of the buggy and go down random isles checking things off the list one-by-one. I get a lot of snacks for Emma and enough meals to make for the weekend and next week. I get plenty of drinks and household items.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." I tell whoever I just bumped into. I look up to see a very nice looking guy. His blonde hair and brown eyes are so prominent. So gorgeous. His tight navy blue shirt is so tight I can see his chiseled muscles underneath.

"Oh no, It was my fault. I was watching where I was going." He chuckles, deeply.

"Well, I'm sorry. Excuse me." I blush and walk back to Emma in the car.

"Wait," He gently grabs my arm to stop me. "Is that, uh, is she...yours?"

"Oh, no." I laugh. "I'm just babysitting her for a friend."

"Well, I know this is forward but, can I have your number?" He blushes.

"Sure." I smile. I write my number down and hand it to him. He gives me a small and promises to call.

I feel kind of strange giving my number to a stranger. But, at the same time, he was extremely good looking. What harm could come of giving a guy my number?

I get home and put Emma down for her nap. I change and put the groceries and things away.

While putting the things away, I feel my phone vibrating in my pocket.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey, it's Jace. How is everything?" He questions.

"Good. Emma and I went grocery shopping and now she's down for her nap." I smile.

"I told you not to buy anything. I can handle everything. There's no need for you to spend your mon-"

"I want to. It's the least I can do." I interrupt.

"Okay well, I'll probably be home late. Don't wait up." He replies frustrated.

"Okay. Have fun." I laugh trying to break the ice.

"You too." He laughs a little and hangs up.
