Chapter 30

Almost two weeks have passed since the party. I'm still pretty upset about that night. Apparently Jace has noticed though. He's been tip toeing around me lately. I really hope he doesn't know that I'm mad because I like him. I hope he just thinks I'm upset because he didn't tell me we were the ones who were hosting the party.

I get to school late and rush to class. After class, I head to my locker and my combination isn't working. Frustrated, I slam my hands against the locker as hard as I can. Surprisingly the damn thing opens and a shit ton of red roses fall out. With the floor and my locker covered in roses, everyone is staring at me. I mean, who wouldn't stare. This must've cost a fortune. There's like a thousand roses. And a note.

Dear Arielle,

I just want to show you how much you mean to me. Be prepared for more surprises like this. The only catch is that you have to wait until prom to know who I am. No guessing!

See you soon Darling.

Okay. As much as I would love to be excited about this, I'm a little creeped out. Don't get me wrong, it's a very sweet gesture. I just don't need this to be some creepy guy or Chase. If it's chase I'm going to be very freaking upset. I'm done with him. All he does is taking me out and lead me on and then run away and not talk to me for a month or so.

Shoving the note in my pocket and get my books. I try to shove the roses back in my locker and slam it shut.

In a way, I can't wait to get more of these surprises.
