Luke POV-
I walked over to where Kira, Kaneshia and Kari was. Kari waved at me.
"Mommy, your fwend is here."
"Baby, come on let's talk."
Kira pulled Kari in her lap, while I kneeled down in front of them.
"Umm..Kari, I know that... I-I...Kari, this is your dad.", she rushed that last part out of her mouth.
"I have a daddy?"
"Of course you do.", I said with a chuckle and she gave me the widest smile I ever seen.
She extended her arms out to me, signalling me to hug her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and placed her head on my shoulder. A tear rolled down my cheek and I began to sniffle. Kari pulled away and wiped my tears away.
"What's wrong, daddy?"
"I-I'm just r-really happy. You're J-just like y-your mom."
I saw Kira wipe away a tear.
"Umm, Kari, me and mommy will be right back."
I set Kari on the bench with Kaneshia and pulled Kira back to the bridge.
"I'm fine, Luke."
"No you're not."
"I really am. I J-"
"Kira.", I said sternly.
"I shouldn't have kept her from you."
"Bab- Kira, you was doing what you thought was right."
"I just thought you were too busy for a baby and at that time, I thought you hated me. And I-"
I kissed her and she wrapped her arms around my head. I grabbed her waist and pulled her closer. She moaned softly as I deepened the kiss. Our tongues battled for dominance.
"Daddy."
I pulled away from Kira and looked down at a giggling Kari. I kneeled down to her.
"Yes."
"Do you love mommy?"
I smiled at her and then looked up at Kira.
"I love your mommy more than anything in the world."
She smiled and then a puzzled look appeared on her face.
"Daddy, where have you been?"
"Umm, well I-I-"
"Kari, how about we all go home and play soccer and you can even have your favorite snack."
"Animal crackers and apple juice?!"
I watched as Kira nodded and ran off happily. I chuckled.
"She gets really excited about animal crackers and apple juice."
"So does Kaneshia."
We both laughed and she gave me her address and we headed to her house.
Kira POV:
I watched as Kari kicked the soccer ball to Kaneshia. After awhile, I got on Wattpad to read One Night Or So I Thought by KaneshiaDavis. I was so into it that I didn't realize Luke had sat down beside me.
"Never pegged you as the reading type."
"Never pegged you as the father type."
"Kira."
"Sorry."
He put his hand on my thigh and made me look at him.
"I'm serious about all of us being a family."
"Luke."
"No, I love you Kira."
"Luke."
"Just say yes."
"I'm engaged."
