"Hurry up", Bellamy whispers as he drags me down a hallway in the ark, I don't even know what time it is.

"Bellamy what the hell are you doing?", I whisper looking back to see if anyone is following us.

"Just wait a second", he says and we stop in front of the door to his room in the ark. I've never been in his room before.

My family and his family have been friends for a long time. His grandparents were friends with my grandparents so that's how we met. We're not dating if that's what you think. Bellamy is my best friend, one of my only best friends if we're being honest. But strangely, we've never been to their room, the Blake's always come over to ours. I never really thought of it before until now. "Yeah I don't think I should—", but before I could finish he pulls me into his room.

And there before me is a girl. A girl maybe a year or two younger than me. She has long brown hair with bangs that end just above her eyebrows. There was an awkward silence before Aurora — Mrs. Blake — steps out from around the corner. "Oh hi Mrs. Blake I ugh.....I was...", I trial off because I can't think of anything, coming up with excuses on the stop isn't my forté. So I just smile awkwardly.

"It's okay Payton. I told Bellamy to get you", she says and I let out a sigh of relief.

"Not that I don't enjoy being with you guys, why am I here in the middle of the night before Unity Day?", I ask.

I should be getting a good nights rest because tomorrow is Unity Day and tomorrow night is the masquerade dance. And I don't necessarily want to be falling asleep at the dance. I then look from Mrs. Blake to Bellamy, and then to the girl who is standing between them. "D- did I miss something?", I ask and I can tell Mrs. Blake knows I am extremely confused, which I am.

"Payton, I want you to meet Octavia", Bellamy smiles slightly motioning towards the girl.

She looks quite nervous. Am I that intimidating? I can't even hurt a fly honestly. I smile at the girl and stick my hand out and she lightly shakes it. Now the question is, why would they want me to meet this random girl in the middle of the night? I look over at Bellamy and he looks at his mom. I look over at her and she takes a deep breath. "Payton, Octavia is my daughter.", she says.

I blink a few times trying to comprehend what she had just told me. I look at Octavia and she does look like her mother, and plus, why would they lie about that? Another question, why haven't I seen her? Ever! She never came over to my room to watch sports with my family and so speaking, hers. I scratch my head and look at Bellamy. "She's your sister?", I ask and he nods slowly.

"I'll leave you two alone for a second", Mrs. Bake says and walks away with Octavia.

"Why haven't you told me?", I ask breaking the silence.

"She- she's not technically....", he trails, which did not answer my question what so ever.

"What?", I ask. I am now completely and utterly confused.

"Well technically she's my half sister but that doesn't matter", he says not answering my question, yet again.

Looks like I have to be specific with my questions. "What do you mean she's not technically....?" I trail off where he stopped.

He looks at me and takes and deep breath, "when I was about six years old, my mom had Octavia. You know you're only allowed one child", he says and I nod.

Bellamy explained about the deals his mom did, "She's not registered with the ark so they don't know she exists", he finishes.

"What! Bell that's bad and illegal! Extremely bad and extremely illegal!", I state and he looks at me.
