So far for the time being I haven't said a word to Bellamy, and he hasn't said a word to me. And I won't be, unless he talks first.

I still can't un-see what he did to the grounder, and all I did was stand there. Stabbing a spike through his hand wasn't going to do anything for us, and I think he knew that too.

"Payton I didn't want any of this to happen, you have to know that" he finally speaks up.

"It doesn't matter anymore, he definitely hates us now if he didn't already" I say, continuing to walk.

And again, another bit of awkward silence. He then hands me a bag of food and I take it, "you know, the first drop ship's going to come down soon. You can't avoided Jaha forever" I say.

"I can try" he says and I take a deep breath.

We stop at the top of the hill and I see old, decaying buildings, and water. "The depot's supposed to be around here" I say looking around, "somewhere."

"There's got to be door" he says looking around.

"Maybe he'll be lenient" I say, referring to Jaha.

"Look. I shot the man Payton. He's not just going to forgive and forget" he points out.

"Let's just split up, cover more ground. Stay within shouting distance" he says and we do down separate paths down the hill.

I search through the leaves and bushes for a door. I'm betting the depot will be underground so the door will be just on the surface.

The number one thing on my mind right now; why does the grounder protect Octavia? Don't get me wrong, it's good. If he didn't she would most likely be dead. But still, why? What connection do they have? I just don't under— but next thing I know I trip over something, letting out a small scream along the way.

I get up and see what I tripped on. "You okay?" Bellamy asks jogging up to me and I nod.

I feel metal and I brush off all the leaves, revealing a metal door. I grab a handle and try to pull it open, but it doesn't budge. "I think it's rusted shut" I say.

"Watch your foot" he says and I move it up. He hits the lock with the axe a couple times.

"Okay, give me a hand" he says and we both open the door.

I walk down the steps and there's a sign on the wall that says emergency aid depot 23. At least we're in the right place.

I grab a flashlight from my bag and hand it to Bellamy, then grab one for myself. "You really think this thing hasn't been touched since the war?" He asks.

"A girl can dream" I say and we continue walking around.

We walk down another flight of stairs and the light from the surface disappears. I look down and see a skeleton sitting on the stairs about a metre away from me and I jump back a bit.

"Hell of a place to die" he says. And surprisingly, it doesn't scare me as much as I think it should. I walked down a pathway of thirty plus skeletons hung up in the dead of night with the threat of grounders popping up any second to kill us. This is not so bad.

We walk around the shelves and I shine the flashlight and see mud, bugs, probably mold, spiderwebs, vines. Basically everything you don't want to live around. "So much for living here. This place is disgusting" I say.
