"D- did you see that!", Clarke says as we run out of the tunnels into the daylight. "Why would they keep them alive?"

"I don't know I didn't really have time to ask him about it while he was trying to kill me", I say rolling my eyes and catching my breath.

By now you'd think I'm used to running, but no. I will never get used to it, and I will never enjoy it.

Clarke walks over to Finn and I don't even bother. They can go work out their little situation themselves, I don't want to be involved in this, that's for sure.

I've learned reapers are horrid and I see why grounders stay away from them. And I thought grounders were bad. Frankly I would take a grounder over a reaper any day. They keep partially dead people in carts in tunnels that smell like death themselves. Why would they keep them alive? Why do they look like that?

The more we end up leaning about this place the less we know honestly. It just opens more doors to new mysteries we don't have time for.

I look over at Clarke and Finn and it looks like
they're not doing or saying anything. "I love you", I hear Finn whisper to Clarke and I cover my mouth with my hand.

Oh my god I do not believe what I'm hearing! "I'm in love with you", he says and a smile grows on my face.

It's not me he's saying he loves but it puts a smile on my face. It's because even down here with grounders and reapers and all.... this, there's still love.

Clarke stays silent and it's like I'm watching this sappy love movie and I have front row seats. Now all Clarke has to do is say she loves him back and all will be happy. I can feel my heart beating fast, anticipating Clarkes response. If I only had a bowl of popcorn.

"You broke my heart", she says and my smile instantly goes to a frown.

NO CLARKE THAT IS NOT THE ANSWER! WRONG! TAKE IT BACK! I turn around and throw my arms up in the air. Why can we not have a happy ending? Just once? It that too much to ask?

A deep sound of an explosion echoes through the air and I immediately spin around and I see Finn and Clarkes head go up and I run up to them. "It came from the camp", Finn says.

"We're too late", Clarke says, but all I can think about is Bellamy.

"Payton slow down! There could be grounders!", Clarke shouts from behind with Finn but I don't listen.

This time I'm motivated to run. I don't like it, but I'm motivated. A bomb went off at the camp, in no way is that a good thing. They need help.

I come upon a little fork in the road if you'd call it that, but more like five different ways to go instead of two. "Payton think this through", Finn says as they catch up.

"Okay where are we? Which way is—", but I don't let her finish and I run down one of the paths, hoping that it's the right one.

They don't have time for us to think. "Payton!", I hear Clarke shout but I keep running.

And thank the lord Jesus I picked the right path because I now know where we are and how to get to the drop ship.

I turn the corner and I hear guns load but I keep running. If they shoot me, they can carry the burden on their shoulders.

"Wait! Hold your fire it's Payton, Clarke, and Finn!", Millar's voice shouts.

At least I know I'm not going to get shot. "Open the gate!"

The gate opens and I'm running full speed, I see Bellamy walking towards the gate and a huge weight gets lifted off my shoulders. He's okay.

I don't even slow down and I run straight to Bellamy and engulf him in the biggest hug. Instantly the feeling of his arms wrap around my waist and he lifts me up off the ground and buries his head into the crook of my neck. Just being in his arms make me feel a thousand times safer than out there.
