As it turns out Robertson's team won this year.

Mrs. Robertson dominated flip cup against my mom. Mr. Robertson beat Will in the race.

Apparently, he did have a sprained ankle.

I won against Theo in the scavenger hunt and Ivey and Mom won against Kalani and Mrs. Robertson in the egg toss, even though they tried to go slower to give Kalani an advantage.

What broke our tie was the red team winning in Kickball.

Which I think is unfair considering they have a soccer player on their hands.

Theo and his family went home for lunch, and we all decided to reconvene later for dinner.

"Hey mom, what are we doing tonight?"

She looks at different recipes in the cookbook before closing it and looking up at me.

I take a seat around the kitchen island, and she lets out a huff.

"I don't feel like cooking tonight. I'm tired. I would ask Diana, but Landon comes home early tonight, and I know how much he's been working lately, she must miss him."

"Dad's still at work?"

She nods, "Yeah I called his assistant Max, and they're deep in paperwork."

"Okay, so we'll do pizza and snacks and have a movie. Don't stress mom, it doesn't look good on you."

She narrows her eyes at me and ushers me out of the kitchen.

"Leave me alone Isa, go and get those two lovebirds upstairs and let them know."

By the time I had rearranged the living room with the help of Ivey, because William now had a wrap on his ankle, Theo and his family had opened the front door to come in.

"Theo, it's rude to just open people's doors without knocking. Act as if I taught you something."

"Mom, calm down, these aren't people. It's just the Jennings."

"Theo, don't tell your mom to calm down, say sorry", His dad scolds.

He mutters a sorry before seeing me and heading in my direction.

"Parents, am I right?"

I just shake my head in amusement, and he finds somewhere to sit.

I look to Kalani who is eyeing us weirdly, but I don't pay it any mind.

Mrs. Robertson goes to hug Ivey, and I can hear her whisper to Ivey to not have a son.

By the time the pizza arrives, and everyone settles down after talking, my dad comes through the door.

He looks completely burnt out and tired but when he sees us all in the living room, his tired expression turns into a smile.

"Hey everyone, sorry I missed the games. How did it go?"

He kisses my mom and drops his briefcase, taking off his jacket.

"Leo and Thalia won this year honey and Will sprained his ankle but he's okay. We really missed you."

He rubs her arm, as if trying to comfort her and then turns to us.

"What are we going to watch?"

"I was telling them that it was my turn."

I tell my dad and he nods.

Every year someone gets to pick a movie to watch, and it finally came back to me.
