Justice on all Earths (Green Arrow The Flash Supergirl Fanfic)

Setup/Introduction

This story is a fanfiction piece set in the universes of the CW TV shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Vixen. Collectively, these shows (minus Supergirl) take place in a universe dubbed the" Arrowverse". This story will combine the storylines of these shows – acting like a giant crossover between them – and will pick up plot-threads from each of them and incorporate them into a giant narrative.

This story takes place after the events of Arrow Season 4, The Flash Season 2, Supergirl Season 1, and Legends of Tomorrow Season 1. In some cases, we will pick up right after their finales. These shows keep track of time based on their airdates, placing our year as 2016.

Justice on all Earths is structured as if it was a TV show itself. A typical full-season CW show has 23 episodes in a season, so Justice on all Earths will be written as having 23 "episodes". However, a single "episode" encompasses 3+ acts and a lot of storytelling, so I will split episodes up into different chapters here. Justice on all Earths will be written in a third-person novel format. The story will have the theme of unity. The superheroes will be facing a very powerful threat, and their only possible way to victory will be to unify everyone in each of their universes; but they will face opposition and conflict. The Green Arrow will attempt to overcome his vigilante status, Supergirl will attempt to overcome the xenophobia her Earth holds towards her, etc. The focus will be put on each superhero trying to come together to fight the central threat, and form an iconic team in the process. The storylines will start out as separate, even with separate "big bads". As the story progresses, and the heroes begin to see how their struggles are all connected, the story will transform into a crossover of epic proportions.

While writing for this franchise, it is important to note that the CW lacks the rights to several iconic characters (the Justice League, Batman, Green Lantern, etc.). When writing this story, realism and faithfulness to the source material will be upheld. On Supergirl, Superman cannot be seen or heard, and we have only gotten glimpses at him that include his legs, his silhouette, or him in the distance. Although this will change in Supergirl's second season, I have opted to continue this portrayal of Superman here. Arrow cannot use any of its Suicide Squad characters, but Deathstoke and Amanda Waller are "not off the table". That will be upheld here. No big-timer superhero will be seen, and the theme of lesser-popular heroes, villains, and storylines will be represented to keep the story close to something that could realistically happen on the TV shows themselves. This will keep a consistent tone that translates from screen to Wattpad very well. It is also important to note that the Justice Society of America has been mentioned on Legends of Tomorrow already, allowing that to be used. But despite the fact that the producer of Legends of Tomorrow confirmed that the character of Alan Scott was denied for use by DC Comics, he will be mentioned as existing on Earth-3 in this story (yet not be seen). The character of Power Girl will also be used, a possibility that was alluded to by the producers of The Flash and Supergirl. Also, all new characters introduced will be either be from DC Comics, or will be minor characters that the producers would invent anyway. This is a DC Comics story, not an original character story. However, any new DC Comics characters are liable to have their origins, storylines, appearances, powers, etc. changed from their portrayal in the comics. The writers of these shows do this often, allowing me to do the same.

Spoilers for all seasons of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Vixen follow. But for readers who have never watched any of these shows before, don't write off this story. If you have mild knowledge of the comics, proceed and see if you can still follow along. You may be able to pick up on offhand exposition and get an idea of what's happened previously. You never know until you try!

Lastly, the continuity of Constantine will be ignored here. NBC's Constantine was a show that debuted 13 episodes in 2014. It was cancelled after one season, however John Constantine crossed over to Arrow in 2015. Wendy Mericle, an Arrow producer, confirmed that Constantine took place in the Arrowverse, and the show shares continuity with the CW shows. Due to my lack of knowledge of that TV show (having never watched it), and the fact that some of the plot points that will need to be covered in this story will contradict and overlap with what was seen in Constantine, that show will need to be ignored. In this story, a character named John Constantine did meet Oliver Queen on Lian Yu and did help to resurrect Sara Lance, but the events seen in his show did not necessarily transpire.
