There has to be a reason Maya did this.
She wouldn't lie. Not to Lucas. She cares about him too much.
I'm gonna find out the truth.
Walks out of school
I looked everywhere and Maya was nowhere to be found. Where did she go?!\
Then it hit me, I'm so stupid!
Where's the place she goes when she's upset?
Bay Window! Bay Window right now in 10 minutes!
That's how long it takes for me to get home.
As soon as I get into the apartment I sprint to my room.
I was right.
As I go into my room I see a sobbing Peaches.
R- "Peaches?? What's wrong?"
M- "I lost him Riles."
I knew who "he" was.
R- "He told me what you said. Maya is it true?"
She could barely speak from crying so hard.
M- "N-No"
I knew it.
R- "Then why did you say that?"
M- "He's better off with you."
What? How does this have to do with me?
R- "Maya, he's really upset. He punched his locker."
She gave me a look of concern.
M- "W-What?"
R- "He's really hurt Peaches. He liked you."
M- "But he also likes you! You liked him first Riley! You deserve to be with him, not me.
I did want to be with him. But I stepped back because of Maya.
R- "You have to tell him the truth."
M- "I can't. He probably hates me."
R- "Oh Peaches, he could never hate you."
He cared too much about her. I noticed it even before I found out Maya liked him.
He wants her to be happy.
He called her the Blonde Beauty.
I was just the Pretty Brunette to him and that wasn't enough.
But that doesn't mean I'm mad that he likes Maya.
She deserves someone to care about her just as much as I do.
She deserves him.
