*ding-ding* I check my phone to see I have a snapchat from Elka.
'Hey Piper wanna come hang with me and the girls today?'
I quickly type a reply.
'Sure thing :) what are the plans'
I wait a couple of seconds
*ding-ding*
'Picnic on the beach?'
I smile to myself it's the perfect beach day.
'Sounds lovely, I'll ask mum.'
"Hey muuuum?" I call as I run down into the living room.
"Yes sweetheart." She takes a sip of her coffee and smiles at me.
"Can I go to the beach with Elka and Steph and everyone?" I ask hurriedly.
Mum raises an eyebrow at me.
"Please." I quickly add.
She chuckles to herself. "Of course Piper."
"Yay thanks mum!" I give her a hug and run back into my room.
'Mum says it's all good :)'
I start picking an outfit for the beach. I swap my bra and underwear with my tropical-floral patterned bikini.
Checking my phone again I see another snapchat from Elka.
'Cool, meet me at mine at 11:30.'
I check the time now, it's 10:30am, I have an hour to get ready.
I pull on a loose long-sleeve white cotton shirt and pair it with a denim skirt and tan Roman sandals.
Shoving my my towel, sunscreen, lip balm and sunglasses into my beach bag, I check the time again.
It's now 11am.
I decide to take some food to share and hunt around in the cupboard until I find a packet of popcorn, perfect.
"Don't forget to take a hat." My mum calls out.
"Yes mum." I groan.
I run back upstairs grabbing my straw hat from my wardrobe and my beach bag off my bed.
It takes 15 minutes to drive to Elka's house so we'd have to leave soon.

I walk inside Elka's large house, her parents have loads of money. The others are already in the kitchen making sandwiches.
We pack all the food we have into two picnic baskets, and take our things to Elka's mum's car.
She's agreed to drop us off at the beach and pick us up again later.
