What is Love (One Piece Fanfic)

Chapter 1

This is an edited version. I wanted to fix the chapter a little bit because I realized it needs some.....changes lol. Well enjoy this version.

{Nami's P.O.V}

What is love? I thought thinking about that word. It was a nice, dark, starry night. The night was beautiful especially the moon shining bright. My eyes were glimmering as I leaned on the rail. Outside at night was the only place where I can think and relax. What is love? I thought again. Why can't I understand! I got sleepy from the frustration and quietly walked to my room. But something stopped me before I could even reach the doorknob.

"Nami..." Who's voice was that? And why is it up in the middle of the night like I am?! I turned my head and surprisingly it was the swordsman, Zoro.

"Nami? Why aren't you asleep?" Zoro asked. I thought I was seeing things but it looked like there was so much worry in his eyes. I knew that Zoro would always worry about his crew. But why would he worry about me for such a little thing?

"I was going to ask you the same question." I said back. He smirked and leaned on the rail just like I did.

Zoro sighed and looked at the night sky. "I woke up to see the stars." I looked at him in a confused state. Why would he be looking at the stars? That's so unlike him. "Uh, Zoro?" I wanted to ask him why he was looking at the stars in the first place. As if he read my mind he answered me smoothly.

"Am I not aloud to look at the stars?" Zoro chuckled as he raised an eyebrow.

I answered him worriedly. "No....! It's just that...."

"It's strange of me, huh?" Zoro laughed and gave a quick smile at me.

"So....." He answered my question like he read my mind again.

"What's my reason for looking at the night sky?" I nodded my head. Zoro had a sad look in his eyes. It bothered me and worried me. I don't think he wants to talk about it. "Nami...."

Zoro gave me a glance to check on me. "Yes?" I said answering him back.

"She and I would always go outside to look at the stars." Zoro smiled as he said 'she'.

I couldn't help but get kinda jealous. I pouted in my head. I don't want him to know that I care about this girl, so I didn't ask him who she was. Honestly, I love this side of Zoro. He rarely smiles and....I got to see him smile that night.

Whooosshhhh  Suddenly there came a big breeze. I then realized I was only wearing shorts and a tang top. I shivered and crossed my arms, keeping myself warm. Dammit Nami! You should've brought a jacket!

"Huh-?" Zoro was already running toward his room, his eyes widen. "Nami!! Look out!" I turned my head and saw a huge wave coming at me. I was about to yell for Zoro's name, not until I felt a muscular arm, which was Zoro's. Our hands touched as Zoro dragged me to his room. As he and I went to his room, Zoro literally grabbed my shoulders and shook them. "Nami, what's wrong with you?! Why didn't you do anything!! Do you know how worried I was!! I thought-!" Zoro was about to finish but I stopped him. I couldn't help it. But his hand.....

"Uh, Zoro.....um...your hand..." I stuttered while there was a hint of red on my cheeks.

Huh? Zoro thought. He looked at his hand and realized he was still holding my hand. Blush Zoro had a bit of red tint on his face and covered it. "I-I....um....I'm s-s-so....sorry....." Zoro stuttered. ( Who knew Zoro could stutter? Lol ) I couldn't help but laugh in joy.

"Hahahahaha!!" Nami laughed. "Oh my gosh Zoro! I've never seen you blush before. Pfft! Haha!" I wiped tears out of my eyes just when I glanced back at him. He had a mad look on his face.

"Wait. Why am I helping you again?" Zoro asked crossing his arms. "Because you were worried about me." I said teasing him. I gave out a little giggle. "Tsk. Whatever. Now go to your room and sleep." I got kinda scared. How can I sleep when the weather is like this? Zoro looked back at me but I didn't realize it. It seemed he was expecting a reply.

"Oi. You ok?"

I bent down and layed on the wooden floor next to Zoro's room. He raised up an eyebrow. "I don't want to go to my room." I closed my eyes but only opening one to see his face. He was angry and he really showed it. "Since you clearly won't allow me going into your room, I'll just sleep here. Cause I know you'll be near." It made me blush a little but I shook my head. I stared back at him and....was he blushing? Before I knew it he started to head back to his room very slowly. He closed the door shut.

Zoro's P.O.V

What's wrong with her! I thought. Why can't she just go to her room and sleep?! I then looked at Nami's face through the window. She was scared. Scared of how the weather was like. The ocean waves were hitting hard on the side of the ship, which made her more scared. Is that why she can't sleep? If she's that scared then she'll get up." She didn't get up at all. "Get up, dammit!" I yelled warning her. Nami shook in bewilderment looking back at me. If it wasn't for her frightened face I wouldn't be running this fast to get her.

( I know Nami is just outside of his door but I put that line in because even if she was close by, Zoro will still run as fast as he could for her. )

"I hate you, you stupid woman!" I grabbed her body, picking her up. But I was too late. The only thing I heard was her shaken voice.

"Zoro..."
