Connecting to Video Chat...
A blurry image of a person shifted in the dark of their own room. Teagan. Nettie breathed as she touched the screen as the person on the other end of the chat slowly got less blurry. Suddenly the screen brightened as the picture on the tablet cleared.
"Hi."
"Oh. Oh my god. Oh god."
"What?"
"I thought you were a boy."
"Wait—!"
Nettie smacked the End Call button and slapped her tablet screen down on her bed. She held her mouth with both hands and felt her face get hot. Of course Teagan was a girl! How could she be so dumb? And for just a second...
Nettie thought she was falling for her.
