I put on a white short-sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans, and a navy blue trench coat, it was cloudy outside, and it looked like was going to storm. My black combat boots were new, the last thing my mom bought me before she died. This is the first time I'm wearing it.
The school bus stopped right in front of my father's house, and before I walked in, there were kids my age screaming and chatting and jumping.  When I stepped on the bus, everyone stopped and looked at me with a smile on their faces. I felt the redness come on my cheeks. I went five seats behind and set next to a brown haired girl just above her shoulders, had a twilight shirt along with a twilight book in her hand. The rest of the bus started to get loud because people decided to start talking again. Thank god.
"Hey, I'm Elena!" She said with the brightest smile.
What's up with the people in this town? Everyone is so nice. Too nice. And I laugh at my childish thought.
"What's so funny?" Elena asked, clearly curious.
"Nothing." I smile casually. "I'm Jamie by the way, Jamie Roland."
"Where you from Jamie?" She asks in a southern accent, in which I haven't noticed a few seconds ago.
       "New York." I say.
"New York! That's so cool. Did you ever meet a celebrity there? I hear they come by often. Omg! Please tell me you met Edward Collins. I'd die to see him." She is about two inches away from my face and I start to giggle.
"Well I did see Hillary Clinton one time." I say boastfully, and we both start laughing. I like this Elena girl. She's bright, and I need that considering all the darkness in my life.
We pull up to the school and the parking lot is huge. A lot of kids were waiting outside by their cars and hanging out. I walked by a group of kids, two girls and three guys, who seem really strange, laying against a black jeep. One of the guys winked at me and the other kids were laughing.  I was confused and even a little nervous.
"They are so cool. I wish I was friends with them." Elena says, as we step onto the stairs of the building.
"They seem like a bunch of asscracks to me." I say. "They seem dangerous and immature."  I know I was harsh but so far, they annoyed me. Elena laughs at my statement.
"Yeah, but Cory is so hot." She says with clear affection.
"Yeah, you can have him." I say and we both start laughing.
"I got to go, see you later." Elena gives me a hug and walks quickly to one of the classrooms. I smile and as I turn around I knock into someone's chest. It was hard and strong. I look up and see a very good looking guy. He is built, but not too built.  I mean his kind of looks could kill. Ha! He almost killed me. I mean he was so smoking, that I thanked god for what just happened. He was tall and he had long, but not too long hair, and he had gorgeous green-gazed eyes.
"Be careful, sweetie." He says in a deep, almost southern accented voice and I couldn't help but blush.
"Sorry." I say and then giggled. Why did I giggle? I mentally slapped myself.
"You're new." He states the obvious.
"Yeah." I say. Why is he talking to me?
"My name is Jared. Jared Ducadd." He says and my heart starts to flutter.
"Jamie. Jamie Roland." I tell him. His face turns into concern. What the hell?
"Are you related to Dana?" My jaw drops all the way to hell.
"Uhh...how do you know my mother?" I reproach, seriously taken back by his question.
"Oh...My mom and she were good friends and I have heard that name a couple of times." He says as he puts his hands through his hair. His beautiful hair. Stop it Jamie! Get to task!
"How come I never knew this?" I say. The bell rings.
"I don't know, but I got to go. Bye." and he rushes down the hallway. I couldn't help but look at his butt. Dammit Jamie! I scold myself.
