Chapter 3

Lauren was still sitting very close to Camila. Camila's heart continued pounding and she felt butterflies in her stomach.

Lauren reached down and grabbed Camila's hand and said "we're going to be great friends," making Camila's heart pound even harder than before.

"I can feel you shaking Camz, it's okay. I won't hurt you, I'll never hurt you," Lauren said.

"I believe you," Camila said nervously.

"Hey, how about we have a sleepover at my house in a few weeks. We can get to know each other better. Just us two?" Lauren said.

"Okay, yeah that seems like fun," Camila said "Let me just ask my parents," and she whipped out her phone.

"Oh here," Lauren said taking her phone out "what's your number?"

After Camila texted her mom her and Lauren exchanged phone numbers. Then the lunch bell rang.

"Oh, there's the bell! What's your next class?" Lauren asked Camila.

"Uhm..." Camila pulled out her schedule to show Lauren.

"Oh wow, it looks like we have all the same classes for the rest of the day. What a coincidence!" Lauren said to Camila.

"Oh cool! I'll know someone," Camila said excitedly.

Camila heard her phone buzz, so she checked it:
To: Mommy
Hola mommy, my first day is going well so far I've been invited to sleep over at my friend Lauren's house on Friday. May I please go?
From: Mommy
Yes, that's fine mija. Just remind me you're going the day of.
To: Mommy
Okay, thank you see you when I get home. <3

After responding back to her mom Camila told Lauren her mom said she can go. Lauren then grabbed Camila and hugged her tightly.

"Yay! I'm so happy you can come!" Lauren said excitedly.

Camila practically melted when Lauren hugged her so tightly. She smelt like a sweet vanilla. Lauren's hugs made her feel so safe and secure.

They finish off the rest of the week and as soon as Camila got home she checked her phone for any messages.

From: Lauren
Hey Camz, just wanted to text you because I'm bored. (;
To: Lauren
Hey Lauren! I'm bored too, thank you for being so nice to me today. (:
From: Lauren
You don't need to thank me beautiful. I like you, you're cute. (;
Camila began to blush a lot before she could reply to Lauren's text she got another message.
From: Lauren
Stop blushing, You little weirdo
Camila started laughing at Lauren's last text before answering.
To: Lauren
I wasn't blushing.
From: Lauren
Yes you were I can see you.
To: Lauren
What do you mean you can see me? Where are you?
From: Lauren
Look out your window doofus
Camila looked out her front window down to her lawn in front of her house and Lauren wasn't there.
To: Lauren
I don't see you. Where do I look?
From: Lauren
Lol I'm not on the ground. Look diagonally to the right across the street.
Sure enough there she was, upstairs in a house diagonally from Camila's. Camila's phone starts to ring, it's Lauren.

*Picks up phone*
C: Hello?
L: Hi  *smiles*
C: Why are you in that house?
L: I live here
C: Wait seriously? Since when?
L: I just moved this summer. My parents wanted to live closer to my school.
C: Oh hahah
L: Yeah, haha I'm coming over.
*hangs up*
