Going Our Seperate Ways

Surprise

-At the Matthews Apartment after the party-

The trio walk in with Josh in front and riley and Lucas trailing close behind. 

Riley:so uncle josh did you have fun?

Josh:gotta hand it to you guys your friends sure know how to throw a party

Lucas:so what'd you do the whole time?

Josh:oh that reminds me i ran into a few old friends of yours.

Riley:oh yeah who?

Josh:who were the people in your guy's old group?

Lucas:farkle,zay,smackle.....and maya..

Josh: well im not one to believe in coincidences but i ran into most of them at the party?

Riley:You ran into them?

Lucas:how is sh- i mean they?

Josh:hmm lets just say alots changed 

Lucas:how so   

Josh:im surprised you don't know considering they're supposed to be your best friends.

Riley and Lucas stare at each other and then look to the ground feeling guilty and as if Josh had just hit them in the chest.

Josh noticing their expressions says:none of my business anyway (he heads for the door but before he leaves he turns and says)don't forget to figure out who that girl was with the amazing voice (with that he's gone)

As soon as he's gone Riley and Lucas are left alone and just as Lucas opens his mouth to say something Riley yells:Bay Window Bay window right now

-Bay Window-

After they sit they spend the first few minutes in dead silence till..

Lucas:why are we here

Riley:lucas can i ask you something  

Lucas:of course you can*smiles

Riley:did we do something wrong   

Lucas:with what exactly 

Riley:what happened to us i promised maya we would always be there for each other but i broke it

Lucas thought to himself for a minute before he came up with an answer: riley I-

Riley:you know what just forget it look i'm tired so see you monday okay?!

Lucas speechless walks out and but not before kissing Riley on the forehead goodnight.

-At school on Monday during passing period-

Lucas:hey riley are you ok?

Riley:yeah*fake smiles*why wouldn't I be?

Lucas:ok well you wanna go to the library after school to study?

Riley:sorry Lucas I'm busy after school in fact I think I'm gonna be busy at least until thursday hopefully by then I'm done 

Lucas:done with what

Riley: what oh i meant dumb 'hopefully by then i wont be dumb you know cuz of my bad grade in spanish

Lucas:i thought your grade was a B 

Riley:well you know my mom and A's she looked up from her locker to see him with a skeptical look on his face 

Bell Rings

Riley:well i gotta go see you tomorrow (thoughts:saved by the bell literally)

Its been 2 days and Rileys barely talking to Lucas. He begins to wonder what she's up too. He's asked repeatedly but she won't let up. The less Riley said the more Lucas' mind thought up possible possibilities. Is wasn't anyone's birthday,no holiday is coming up, their anniversary wasn't for another month.Is she really studying for Spanish? Why couldn't she have asked him for help ...oh yeah he's taking ASL haha.Alas he will just have to wait until Friday.

Girl:Sorry but I don't think I should be giving you this information 

Riley:pretty please with spinkles

Girl:sorry I can't if you want it so bad just go ask personally [The girl walks away holding her books in arm and slamming the locker with the other]

Riley: whats her problem I've only asked her like 8 times today

-Friday Passing Period-

Lucas is at his locker getting ready for APUSH when riley comes up skipping and in a very satisfied and cheerful mood.

Riley puts her hands on his shoulders as he turns around and smiles. Now Lucas and Riley are holding hands.

Lucas: it's Friday so now tell what you've been up too this week.

Riley:you'll find out afterschool I promise *she leans in too kiss him and when they do she just feels something's off. The bell rings and they go their separate ways.

Afterschool Lucas waits for Riley across the street in his car. It isn't long before the passenger door opens and riley steps in quickly giving Lucas a kiss on the cheek as if it were just a habit by now.

Lucas:so where are we going

Riley:Topangas 

Not even 15 minites later and they arrive and step out of the car.

Lucas:what are we doing here we can come here any time

Riley:you'll see

As they enter Riley seemed saddened.

Lucas:whats wrong 

Riley:nothing nothing at all um lets just order.         

She takes a look around and then it finally hits her.
