Going Our Seperate Ways

As she dragged him lucas couldn't help but resist.Once they got to the front door Lucas looked around and saw a normal 2-story and the front yard was huge.He felt a little more at ease until he heard a crashing noise from inside.Maya was about to knock when lucas grabbed her arm stopping her.She looked at him consfused and walked over to him put her arm on his shoulder and tried to comfort him."hey relax they don't bite."He let out a sigh of relif."well most of them don't "she said but noticed he looked like was going to faint and regreted it."Look you don't have to come in with me"she said as she turned back to knock on the door."its not like i can leave you alone with those 'troublemakers.'"maya laughed and as the door opened lucas gulped and felt ashamed because he might not be able to protect her in a situation like this.

The door slowly opened and revealed a boy about few years older than them.Lucas was shocked because as soon as the stranger opened the door maya hugged him as if they were pals.He couldn't help but feel threatened."who's this kid?"the older guy said pointing at lucas."he's a friend from awhile back"maya said "HI im lucas friar nice to meet you."he stated as he extended his hand."Im Jared nice to meet a friend of Mayas."

Maya looked and lucas and explained Jared was Bens older brother."Wait..are YOU her boyfriend?"Lucas almost yelled.They both laughed.

Jared:nope im not

Maya:i warned him about keeping his distance from me around HIM  

Jared:yeah thats good advice 

Maya:so you going  to invite us in or what?

Lucas and Maya walk in and Lucas is surprised when half adozen little kids come and jump on Maya.

Girl1:hey maya

Boy2:what took you so long

Girl4:did you miss us?

Boy1:where's ben?

Boy5:who's he?

Maya hugs them all:"sorry guys a lot of stuff has happened but yeah i really missed you all."

All of Lucas' fears leave him like a tidal wave. When he begins talking all eyes are on him.

Lucas:hi I'm Lucas a friend of Maya's 

All the kids ask questions like whats your relationship with him and what about ben?

All kids in unison:oooo brothers not gonna like this...

Maya chuckles:we are JUST friends okay where is he anyway?

Jared:hes out with friends he'll be back soon though

A little girl walks up to Lucas with a teddy bear in her left arm."Hi mister "she said squeaked."Well hello there "he said as he got on his knees to be at around the same height level as the girl.

Girl:i like your name 

Lucas:i like your teddy bear 

Girl: tank you my name is Leslie im a princess and teddy is my foog.

Lucas smiled and while still on his knees he bowed:pleased to meet your acquaintance princess Leslie

Leslie motioned for him to pick her up so he did just that.

Maya:im glad they like you

Lucas:me too

Jared:well c'mon everybody lets go play outside.

All the kids ran outside and pulled maya with them.Lucas put leslie down and walked over to Jared.

Lucas:so are they all your kids  

Jared:yeah me and my brothers didn't exactly have the best life so I wanted to at least be able to offer homes to some kids.

Lucas:i think thats very noble  

Jared:lets cut to the chase i can see on your face how much you care about maya

Lucas:she means alot to me 

Jared:yeah yeah i know all about you she told me everything

Lucas:i made a mistake and all i can hope for now is she gives me a second chance to make things right.

Two little girls walk up to them and Jared introduces them as KC and JJ.They are dragged off in different directions and Lucas once in a while looks over at maya to see her smile and gets this warm fuzzy feeling in his chest.

Leslie:let play princess maya

Maya:okay leslie 

Leslie drags maya over to her little castle set and calls Lucas over.

Lucas:your majesty  

Leslie:wanna pay wit us

Lucas:if it pleases her majesty

Leslie and maya both laugh as they put on tiaras and leslie puts on her dress.

Lucas:what do I wear?

Leslie:I be wight back* runs out leaving them alone.

"its really cool of you to do this ya know"she said as she sat on the bed.Lucas walked over and sat with her.They were less than a foot apart."It means alot to me that you brought me here"he said with a half a grin."so it looks like your the one who owes me now"she said looking him in the eyes."I think I know a way to pay my debt."he said as he began to lean closer until they were even closer to each other than they were at Topangas that one time.Maya seemed like she was under a spell but blinked a few times and pulled away before anything happened,

Maya:ya know if theres something on my face just tell me you don't have to get too close

Lucas was about to explain but figured it was best to go along with it or otherwise risk their friendship.

Lucas:yeah sorry about that-

Leslie walks in and yells "maya come quick brothers home"and runs down stairs.Maya stands straightens herself out and walks downstairs.Lucas follows her downstairs and sees a boy about their age with a leather jacket brownish hair and a pale skin tone.  He watches as all the kids run up and hug him as they did maya he notices the only one he's looking at is Maya and so is she.
