"So I have some bad news," Kai said.

"What?"

"Elizaveta and Julian will be joining us for dinner," he said, shrugging on a brown leather jacket. His longish hair was messy and disheveled as usual, coupled with his almond shaped eyes, he looked cute and boyish despite his angular features. Looks do kill. Who knew? In my defense, when you're forced to stick around with a hot assassin, why not enjoy the view?

"I'll order room service," I said.

"We're actually planning on going to the Rouge Bis," Kai said. "You know what that is?"

I tried to hide my surprise. Coincidence? Did he know about the letter. "That's Dick Cavilleri's restaurant," I said. "Bad idea."

"Which is why we're going there," he said.

"To confront a dangerous Mafia Boss who's guards I set on fire after he tried to kill me twice while he's having dinner with all his evil friends?" I asked.

"That's the plan," he said.

"Dumb ways to die! So many dumb ways die-" I sang. I forgot the rest of the lyrics so I just sang those two lines over and over.

Kai ignored me for a total of two minutes. Not bad.

"What do you suggest?" He asked, demanded really. He pulled out a silver gun from his bedside drawer.

"I suggest we don't," I said.

"That's not going to happen," he said. "Come on, we need you there to get a reaction from him," Kai said. "Maybe he'll even tell us why he sent mercenaries after you on two seperate occasions. Besides the obvious, I mean."

"What is the obvious?"

"You're an annoying little shit," he told me frankly. He pushed back some of the hair that had fallen into his eyes but it only fell back again. He scowled.

"Stop fighting with your hair," I told him.

"So, try to calm down this time. Elizaveta and Julian will be there but they will protect you if Cavilleri gets any ideas," he said.

"With friends like that, who needs enemies?" I drawled.

"Just try not to provoke Elizaveta," he sighed.

"What if Elizaveta provokes me? What then?" I asked.

"Then don't react! Don't cause a scene, God, is it that difficult to understand?" He demanded, exasperated.

"Yes."

"I give up," he said.

"You're not the first one," I said, patting his shoulder nicely. He tensed under my touch and I withdrew my hand quickly. I don't know why I did it. I was still wary of him.

"By the way, I have something to show you," I said, tossing the laptop on the bed. I had deleted the first message. The one where Arianna told me about her relationship with Dean. But if we were going to Rouge Bis, maybe I could find the safe where Dean his his secrets.

Kai looked over my shoulder. He cursed softly in another language when he saw the message. I guess even he wasn't too happy to see Nikky-poo.

"Aren't you happy? One Circle member is dead!" I said.

He pursed his lips. "I guess things got a bit more messy," he said. He flung the laptop at me. "On the bright side, one Circle member is dead."

Fortunately I caught the laptop before it hit the ground. "If you toss my laptop again, one more can be added to that list," I warned.
