Instinctively, your hand quickly moved from under the blanket to cover your increasingly red face from his words. His romantic words and actions in the past few hours had completely taken you off guard as you had expected him to be like almost every other teenage boy and just be annoying. However, he was different. He wasn't like any of the kids at school including the girls. He was quiet, passionate, overly mature for his age, and incredibly sweet. And it was a real shame that most of the kids at school couldn't see that and just chose to peg him as an outsider. You were quite thankful though that the girls never noticed him so now you had zero competition and landed a guy most girls would claw each others eyes out for if they got to know him.

"Why are you covering your face?" he asked with a laugh in his voice clearly amused at your embarrassment.

"I can tell my face is getting red." you told him keeping your protective hand securely over your face. "I don't want you to see."

"Why not?" he asked slightly moving under the blanket. "I think it's cute."

"Stooopppp." you groaned bringing your other hand to join in on the protection. "Why can't you just be like the other guys and ignore me."

Jonathan couldn't help but laugh at your words. You weren't ready for some television romance and there was really nothing you could have done to actually prepare yourself.

"How can I possibly ignore you?" he asked you calming down from laughing. "Seriously, I'm finally your boyfriend now and I'm not missing my chance to shower you with love."

Without waiting for a response, he moved his hands from underneath the blanket as well and brought them over yours that had still been pressed to your face. He gently pulled them away from hiding your embarrassment and firmly held onto both of them as he placed a kiss on the back of each hand. With the amount of space between your bodies you knew he was trying to give you space and not be over-whelming. Though, when he kissed your hands again just like he had in the car ride here, you couldn't help but quickly close the space and wrap your arms around his neck as you buried your face into his shoulder.

As you mostly rolled on top of him, he let out a soft chuckle while being pushed from laying on his side to his back. His arms quickly wrapped themselves around your upper waist careful not to travel to low. Laying against his chest, you couldn't help but pull yourself closer as his body heat quickly transferred to your still cool body.

A comfortable silence filled the room. No television, idle chat, radio, or passing cars could be heard except the extremely quiet sound of Jonathan's breathing. His head nuzzled closely to yours even though it was still wet from the shower. Neither of you seemed to have cared though as you both remained tightly wrapped in each others comforting embrace.

The thought of being honest and telling him that you truly loved him crossed your mind. A strong urge filled your body to let him know how strongly you felt for him though thankfully you managed to keep in control of your actions. It was far too soon to confess such strong feelings and you had never been one to mess around with the L word. It was thrown around so easily at school between couples that, even though it was how your felt, you didn't want to you soon for fear Jonathan would either disapprove or not feel as strongly at this point.

"Do you want the light off?" he asked against your hair breaking the silence.

It was completely dark outside except the few stars that could be seen through the dark clouds in the rainy sky. Surely, it was time to start falling asleep before you both would lose track of time and the sun would rise.

"Off." you answered simply refusing to move from your overly comfortable spot. "I can't sleep with the lights on."

"Okay." he replied freeing one of his arms as he stretched as far as he could go toward the lamp on the table beside the bed.

You both chuckled as he finally managed to shut the light off with extreme struggle. While laying in the dark you couldn't help but examine his chuckle and body language. He seemed as carefree as possible with his muscle relaxed. A smile formed on your lips as he was finally able to take his mind off things even for a few hours. Tomorrow would be different though and you were determined to help look for his brother with the other volunteers. But in the moment your mind different back to Kelly. Not a word had been heard from her since she left your house.

You knew tomorrow you would have to make time to visit her home again and possibly look for any signs if her and her family still were not home. It was unfortunate all the stress that had been taking place in your teenage life though with Jonathan you were sure you wouldn't have it any other way.
