Dan's POV

"I know it sounds stupid but, do you know if Y/N likes me?" I ask F/N as she sits on a stool next to my hospital bed.

"Let me think- Hell yes Daniel James Howell! Of course she does!" She screams like it's obvious.

"It's easy to overthink things so I thoug-"

"Usually the truth is right there and guess what? It's literally in front of you." F/N widens her eyes.

"Well, then why did she avoid kissing me?" I protest. It still hurts to say that. Yes, it would have been awkward afterwards but I've been waiting and waiting for that to happen. Y/N's a great friend and all but, I've fallen for her and that's the problem. It's dangerous territory.

"What?" F/N gasps.

"Just yesterday, she came in to see me after surgery and... I- There was a moment. I thought it was the right time but, of course it wasn't." I stutter slightly. F/N frowns but her eyes then light up.

"I know what you can do." She leans over and I wait for her to continue.

"There's one thing that draws Y/N in to your arms." She grins and even though I don't know what this idea is, I feel a little uneasy.

"Is it risky?" I ask worriedly and F/N looks down at the ground to think.

"Yes but, as soon as Y/N sees, she'll be hooked. Trust me, I've seen it in the past." I feel tempted to do it now, I don't even care what I get myself into.

"What happened in the past?" I inquire. I might be digging too deep but F/N got me curious.

"Y/N dated this one guy called Nick. I told her to watch out for him but she denied me. Then, he absolutely tugged at her heart. She told me she liked it and because of that, he won her over." F/N recalls.

"What did he do to win her?"

"Jealousy Dan, that's the key. Y/N will be putty in your hands in the blink of an eye." She snaps her fingers and I flinch.

"I don't want to-"

"We'll run our plan at your radio show debut party. I'll come as your plus one." F/N stands off the stool and begins walking over to the door.

"Remember to play along Dan, put on your best performance, for me- I mean, Y/N." She snickers and leaves the room. There's no getting out of this now. And if it really works then maybe, just maybe something might finally happen.

Your POV

Tonight is the night of the party. Obviously, you have never had your own radio show before but, you still don't want to go. Crowding people, alcohol-infused air and that whole environment isn't your cup of tea but, for the sake of Dan and Phil, you decide to go anyway.

An hour before you're meant to be there, you scramble up a casual outfit from your closet.
