*CHRIS'S POV*

The last day of tour. The day we get to go home, and me and Ricky can finally get some time with Echo. I loved the fans, but I had a daughter now, and right now, she probably had the impression that I'm a jerk who won't let her be with who she chooses. I don't even know how things were going between her and Lucas. But I'm not sure if I want to.

Echo, Lucas, Bryan, Maddie, Jack, and Josh were all standing side stage watching us, since we were almost done performing. We had a Meet & Greet after this show, and Echo asked if she could come. I said yes, since she looked like she really wanted to go.

I looked over to the side of the stage.

Echo and Lucas were gone.

I was panicking, but I had to continue the show.

"Crossed out, wrists bound, everybody get down!

Come on and get me, come on and get me!

Blacked out ghost town,

Light it up and burn it down!

You want to blame me? You never met me!

On your knees, just a slave to a god of nothing!

Try and judge me!

I'll tie that rope around you neck and kick your throne out!"

As I finished up the chorus, I walked over to Ricky and gestured toward the side stage.

"She's fine." He mouthed.

I nodded my head and went back to singing.

"You don't need a disclaimer,

You're not really famous,

So get your fucking nose out of my life!

Unprotected sex confession

Sharing needles at the altar,

Father fucking little kids makes him holier than thou!"

*ECHO'S POV*

Lucas held my hand while guiding me to the dressing room. I had no idea what was going on.

"Stay right here. I have to go get something." He said as he walked off.

He came back with a guitar. I was still confused.

Lucas got down on one knee, and adjusted the guitar to fit him.

He took a deep breath and started playing.

"I got your picture, I'm comin' with you,

Dear Maria, count me in.

There's a story at the bottom of this bottle, and I'm the pen."

I started smiling like an idiot, and he did the same thing, except his smile was actually cute.

He kept singing while he played the guitar.

"When the lights go off, I wanna watch the way you take the stage by storm.

The way you wrap those boys around your finger,

Go on and play the leader,

'Cause you know it's what you're good at,

The low road for the fast track,

Make every second last.

'Cause I got your picture, I'm comin' with you.

Dear Maria, count me in.

There's a story at the bottom of this bottle, and I'm the pen.

Make it count, when I'm the one who's selling you out,

'cause it feels like stealing hearts callin' your name from the crowd."

At this point, I was trying my hardest not to cry. No one has ever done this for me...ever. I just felt like he cared so much, even though I slightly felt like he didn't. Maybe he just didn't want me to be all sad...

"Doesn't that mean you'll be the showgirl of the home team

I'll be the narrator

Telling another tale of the American dream

I see your name in lights

We could make you a star

Girl, we'll take the world by storm. It isn't that hard.

'Cause I got your picture I'm comin' with you.

Dear Maria, count me in.

There's a story at the bottom of this bottle, and I'm the pen.

Make it count, when I'm the one who's selling you out,

'Cause it feels like stealing hearts calling your name from the crowd, whoa."

There was a slight pause before he started playing and singing again.

"Take a breath, don't it sound so easy?

Never had a doubt, now I'm goin' crazy

Watching from the floor.

Take a breath and let the rest come easy,

Never settle down, 'cause the cashflow leaves me always wanting more."

He looked up at me with tears in his eyes.

"'Cause I got your picture, I'm comin' with you, Dear Maria, count me in.

There's a story at the bottom of this bottle, and I'm the pen.

Make it count, when I'm the one who's selling you out,

'Cause it feels like stealing hearts callin' your name from the crowd."

He started to play slower.

"'Cause I got your picture, I'm comin' with you,

Dear Maria, count me in.

There's a story at the bottom of this bottle..."

He had the most beautiful singing voice I'd ever heard.

I was sitting there admiring it when I heard Lucas sniff. I looked up, only to see Lucas with his face buried in his hands as he cried.

I sat on the floor next to him, and just kind of looked at him for a second before I asked him what's wrong.

"Lucas?" I asked.

"Yeah?" He asked me as his voice quivered.

"What's wrong?"

He looked up at me. "I love you, Echo. I really do...I just can't be with you. You wouldn't be happy."

"Are you kidding me? Of course I would! I would be the happiest girl in the entire world!"

"No. You wouldn't. Trust me." He said as he got up and walked away.

He left the room, leaving me sitting there in the floor.

I sat there for about ten minutes fighting tears when I heard someone turn the doorknob. I put on my happy face and pretended I was on my phone.

"Echo?" What are you doing here? Devin asked me.

"What? Um...I just needed to cool off. It's pretty hot in that room." I said.

"Oh. Well that makes sense." He said as the others walked in.

"Why are you in here all alone?" Chris asked.

"She needed to cool off." Devin answered for me.

"Oh. By the way, Echo, sorry to tell you this, but the cancelled the Meet & Greet today, so we're just heading straight home." He said.

"Oh. Okay." I said as I got up and started heading for the door.

Why wouldn't I be happy dating Lucas?
