"Wait." You pulled away confused. "What do you mean you weren't in China?"
"I mean, I wasn't there."
"You were spotted in China. A guy reported it to the police then there were more sightings."
He shook his head,"I wasn't in China. I've been here this whole time. In D.C."
"What?"
"It's a dangerous world. I didn't want you all alone. I would walk with you whenever you went out shopping or with friends but I kept my distance."
"You were following me?"
His eyes widened,"I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't have that's creepy I just wanted to make sure you were safe. I'm so sorry."
You fought a smile,"I'm not upset that you followed me. It's like you were my guardian angel." You paused,"So who was in China?"
"Maybe they just thought it was me." He shrugged,"It happens a lot. Big, tall handsome guy with long hair."
You laughed,"Good one Barnes."
He laid back and pulled you down along side him.
"Let's go to sleep darlin."
You rolled over on your side becoming the little spoon as Bucky wrapped his big arms around you.
He kissed your cheek.
He was such a gentleman.
Guys now expect sex so soon into a relationship.
Bucky hasn't even kissed you anywhere but your face and hand.
He was so old fashioned and it made you feel special.
Like he wanted you for more than your body, more than your looks.
It also made you worried. Maybe he wasn't attracted to you in that way.
"Penny? You're fidgeting around. Are you okay?"
You stopped your absentminded moving,"Yes I'm fine. Goodnight James."
"Goodnight Penelope."

In the morning you rolled over and stretched as you woke.
You abruptly sat up remembering about last night.
Bucky.
The bed was empty.
You jumped up and ran to the bathroom, empty.
You went out to the living room, empty.
The kitchen,also empty.
Your heart sank.
There was no note.
Bucky left. Again.
You dropped down onto the floor and resisted the urge to cry, you failed.
You sat on the floor for a few minutes before the door knob started to jiggle.
You scooted back of the floor and hid behind a table.
The door opened and you peaked your head out.
It was Bucky.
You let out a sigh of relief and stood up.
He looked over at you.
He placed the stuff he was carrying on the counter and rushed over to you.
He took your face in his hands.
