Zombie apocalypse AU

(John's POV)

I ran as fast as I could. Racing to where the scream for help came from, hoping that it was Red and not some random human. I kept running in the same direction until I heard something.

"Please don't hurt me. I don't want to die."

It's Red. I kept running until he can into view. Three other walkers surrounding him, creeping in closer and closer. I tripled my effort to get to him and chase off the other walkers.

(Red's POV)

I don't know what to do. I'm going to die right now. I'm never going see my friends again. This is the end. I closed my eyes and waited for the walkers to rip me to shreds. I felt something rush close to me. I tensed up out of fear. I opened my eyes a little the see the purple hoodie worn by John.

John chased the other walkers away then turned back to me.

"Red, okay?" John asked.

"Y-yes I'm fine."

"Why Red leave?" John asked.

"I miss my friends. I want to go back home. Where I belong."

John came closer to me and I tensed up. John put his arms around me and hugged me. I expected ice cold to the touch, but his body gave off a little warmth like a small fire.

"John. You're.... You're warm."
