Jokes were flying from every which directions. (Y/n) was laughing her ass off, while Alex was smiling and chuckling. He seemed happy. More happy than the recent bunch of days. (Y/n), she was just happy to have someone to talk to for the meantime and have a friend.
When everything was starting to calm and they were pretty close to (Y/n)'s home. This overwhelming feeling overcame (Y/n). Her curiosity was begging to know what those papers had written on them. She knew she shouldn't ask, it may be something personal, yet, curiosity, as was said earlier- Is something she couldn't control.
"Hey Alex, if you don't mind me asking," (Y/n) started quietly, then gesturing to the papers on the dashboard. "What are those for?"
Alex seemed to hesitate with a quick glance at the papers she was pointing at. "Umm... Nothing, really," he answered, with the worst voice to sound innocent.
"Can I see them then?" He shook his head. (Y/n) groaned irritably. In a quick, yet, silent swipe she grabbed the papers. The aura changed.
"NO- (Y/n)! Put them ba-!"
She wouldn't put them back, she couldn't even speak. Just seeing this was scaring her. Were these hers? They looked newer. Gripping the papers harshly, she stared at them.
"Alex."
(Y/n) looked over the papers, at these drawings, all saying some two-to-three word messages. Her heart started to slow as reality came to her. Her eyes captivated on the drawings, she took in dry breaths. "Alex," she asked again. When he didn't answer, (Y/n) looked over at him, "Alex, where did you get these?" Her hands started to shake, as the rest of her body, as a sob came out.
"I-I-I don't know if I can live with....it in my life....again!" She practically whispered-yelled to herself.
Alex had already pulled to the side of the road. As she started to silently have her flashbacks of when she was a child, Alex looked at her, "How about you get home, and I then I'll explain everything going on right now."
"Am...Am I safe?"
"Prolly not," he stated with some sympathy hidden in his voice, but it was layered with monotone.
She mumbled something before wiping away her tears with the sleeves of her jacket. "Please just explain to me.... everything that's going on," She told him as she started to try to stop crying, and put on a strong face.
There's no way it's back. Yes, I've seen signals of it. But...It....It just can't be! True, he was there when I was a child. And yet, they placed me in some shitty mental hospital. I'm grown now, and I will not be in some fucking nutcase house!
The drive was silent, everyone now in their own thoughts.
Alex drove, regretting to have answered that call. She has to go, he thought as he gripped the steering wheel roughly. She has to go... soon.
_-_-_
It was becoming darker by the minute and a light pitter-patter of rain beaten against the roof of her home. (Y/n) sat on the couch, listening intensely to every word Alex was saying. "So that's basically where I found the pages. Kay?"
(Y/n) forced a nod as she sighed solemnly. He had explained that he was given those pages by friends. It didn't sound convincing as his voice took a couple cracks as he was spewing his answers.
After she held strong with this newly gathered information, Alex soon wanted to leave, so when he was about to dismiss his presence, (Y/n) walked over to him and wrapped his arms around him, leaning her head against his chest.
"Thank you, Alex, thanks for explaining everything. Kinda wish you told me at that Starbuck though. But hey, if I told someone that, I would probably be considered very crazy," she praised in a jokingly way, smiling. He sighed, forcing a smile and wrapped his arms around her fragile self.
"Eh, well, I guess your welcome?" he said, forcing an awkward chuckle, "Well, if you need me ever, just call." He smiled as he soon exited the room to outside, then to his vehicle.
"She's going to have to go," he smirked, his pale fingers tapping repeatedly to his pocket the held the handgun, that was hidden by his jacket.
(sorry that this was a late chapter, just busy and all, and I've been working on another story addition with this one :)
