The night was something on edge. Daring to fall, shatter, break. Sleep was nothing of use, hardly acceptable. Nothing seemed safe. He's a fine man, indeed. He has a mysterious tone for sure, but there's no use in pondering about it. She didn't feel safe. Period.
Watching the street from the window where a couple hours before Tim's car drove away, leaving her to collect herself and think. (Y/n) fumbled with her fingers nervously. She kept herself quiet to listen to the blank eerie silence that gathered and tortured her in her home. Every light was on, as was the TV, and every possible noise maker available. However, nothing seem to loosen the edge, and only made more depth to the silence.
Shuffling in the chair by the window, she tried to think of what to do to relieve this invisible knot that mixed and trudged in her head.
Fear padded with her thoughts. That guy could easily come in here and kill her. He did break in without anything noticing. It created a silence with it. There's no safety here. Not at all.
Bzzzz.....Bzzzzz....Bzzzzz
The phone vibrated on the table. Sharply, she turned and picked it up, not answering it yet, but examining the number. One such number she had never seen nor heard. Without too much thought, she declined and placed it on the table next to the chair. From there, she stared blankly out the window.
Bzzzzz.....Bzzzzz...Bzzzzz
She groaned and picked it back up and her thumb ready to decline, however the face of he bother visible on the phone, his cheery grin and gleaming (e/c) eyes made her smile. She accepted.
"Hey, (Y/n)! Guess what!"
"What?!" she smiled as she listened to the contact of hearing someone.
"Since I'm graduating in two weeks, I'm sending you over here!" He chirped. I smiled, Thank goodness.
"Man, that's awesome! So how you going to do it, you got classes tomorrow."
"Nope, my schedule is cleared tomorrow, and be ready by ten!""Wait- Why so late? It's almost two-in the morning!"
"I was at this party, besides, why are you still up?"
"Touché."
They ended the phone call with good-byes and few comments. She smiled as she placed the phone down and went off to the kitchen, started a pot of coffee (or something else idk). Sleep wasn't going to happen, she felt happy, but also feared to walk around her home. Sleep was going to be without, even if he weren't coming.
She was going to stay there for two weeks where she will see him graduate then he'll live here. Won't be so lonely.(Y/n) walked into the hallway, only to stop dead in tracks. In the cramped hallways was one single window and (Y/n) whom stared in disbelief. The window previewed her backyard, in her backyard was a tree that had fallen several weeks ago, on that tree was someone. Someone with legs crossed over one knee, using their arm to hold up their chin. And the mask. A white mask, it seemed to have features on, but hard to tell with the very dim porch light.
It stared at her, and she stared back.I should really be used to this.
It was like a staring contest with prey and predator. She didn't dare to break the stare, as did the masked watcher. Inhaling a deep breath, she closed her eyes and scrambled into the kitchen. The phone! Where's the phone! It's gone! She quickly scanned the room, then took a deep breath and swiped three kitchen knives from the block. Running she made her way to the small closet in her room.
She held the knife close to her chest. She never once had to use a knife. Gulping, she whimpered in the unknowing. Flick. A light across the home turned off. Flick, flick, flick. Soon all lights were off. Darkness settled upon the home. The TV and everything running was quickly turned off. She bit her lip and felt tears brim her eyes as the woodened door of her room creaked eerily and only one footstep sounded and everything was silent. An hour must of gone by, an hour of torture. No noise was verbal and tension churned and tightened in the air. Feeling claustrophobic of the small closet space that held wire hangers and few clothes. Nothing has been heard nor done in the past hour. It truly was pure torture. They could of left, right?
No one in the right mind would do this. They probably don't know what a right mind means.
Fuck it! I should not be like this in my own damn home! They probably just rob me and left! Why me!? Why this!?
She opened the closet door, and stumbled out and fell, forgetting the lost of circulation in her legs. She groaned and attempted to get up.
She got halfway up, then focused on what was beside the closet door. Fear froze her entire being. Her thoughts were clouded with horror and panic.
A chair was nicely settled by the closet door. On the chair was it. She could see the figure in the dark. Darting its glare back at her. A tan jacket, jeans, boots, a white mask. Her conscious seem to fall, as her legs gave way and she abruptly fell on the floor.
The figure examined her and sure she had passed out, Picked up her and flopped her over its broad shoulders and hefted her through the window which was a simply lock to switch. The night went on as it was 4:39 AM.
(Felt like writing before my computer does, hood night and hope ya enjoyed!)
