“Ladies and Gentlemen flight 82, Sydney to Adelaide will be boarding at Gate 23 in 10 minutes”
I shifted nervously in my seat; I was in the middle of one long row of attached chairs, in the middle of the waiting area for Gate 23
The man across from me frowned at his screaming children and pulled them apart, sitting one either side of him, when one made a move to get up or yell he glared at them and they sat back in their chair quietly
“Twix or Snickers?”
I jumped in my seat and turned to face a smiling Reece
“Jesus Mastin, you scared me half to death” I sighed taking the Twix from his hand
He jumped over the chair, much to the disapproving stare of the crowd around us and took his seat next to me
“Why so jumpy Kali?”
I bit into my Twix bar and shrugged “Not use to flying”
“It’ll be alright, flying is no big deal” He smiled, pinching my cheek
“For you maybe, you do it all the time”
“True, but I didn’t use to, we’ll get sorted, get up in the air plug our IPods in, read our books, have a chat and before you know it we’ll be touching down”
I sighed shakily and nodded “You’re right”
He grinned “I’m always right”
I rolled my eyes and checked my phone again

ADELAIDE! Baby cake’s, I’ve never had a Christmas without you, it’ll be so hard this year! Especially with the little fellow on the way, yet I’m so glad you have Reece with you for Christmas, to say the least I’m surprised, spending Christmas with someone’s family when you’ve only been on 3 dates is a big step, but I guess your relationship has taken the effect of 3 months in 3 weeks hasn’t it
I love you so much baby cake’, remember that Rick and I are always here for you, even with an addition, you’re my little sister and I’ll always come when you call
Have fun with Reece and his family, say Hello to Debbie and Darren for me and tell them Thank you all the time, they’re taking you into their home remembers your manners!

I smiled and turned my phone off slipping it back in my pocket
“Who was that?” asked Reece, crunching on a Twix bar
“Abbey saying Merry Christmas- Weren’t you eating Snickers?” I asked, looking down at the Twix packet I held in my hand

I looked back up at Reece in shock and he just grinned innocently
“You ate my Twix!”
He shook his head, half a Twix stick in his hand
I shoved the packet down his shirt and crossed my arms as he struggled to pull it out and shove it in his back pocket with his Snickers packet
“I’m sorry baby” he said, leaning across and kissing my lips
I made a ‘Hmm’ sound in my throat and kissed him back, only pulling away when he opened his mouth to mine
“What?” he asked, confused at my early exit
